Former Adult Education Centre Student Accommodation Scheme
Having not previously dealt with a scheme this large or complex, the client gave us free reign
to develop a proposal which was to include the renovation of the Former Education Centre and No. 46 Green Street, along with a number of new build
accommodation blocks.
Located a mere 100m from Gillingham High Street and railway station, the site provides the ideal
location for student accommodation.
I have had a large involvement on this project which has seen me co-ordinate and partake in client and consultant meetings, liaise with the
planning officers and surveyors.

Site VisitsBourne Tap and Rocksalt Restaurant
Having completed a number of work placements at Guy Hollaway Architects prior to my full time
employment, I have been able to monitor and track the progress of various on-site projects.
Whilst primarily allowing me to see how the architectural drawings, both technical and planning
are utilised during construction. These visits also gave me an insight into how a project is run and the
various contractual and construction issues that may arise over the course of a project.

Bromley South Central Mixed-use development
My time in the London Office gave me the opportunity to work on the company’s £80m
mixed-use development in Bromley. Comprising of a multiplex cinema, cafes, restaurants a hotel and
200 apartments, it was a scheme far larger than previously experienced in the Kent Office and gave
me an insight into the complexity and requirements of such a large commercial project.
KSA Crit Building Blog article
Aside my main roles at Guy Hollaway Architects, I have also been tasked with a number of various PR jobs which have seen me edit and update the
company’s website, design the Christmas card and write and construct the blog posts.
The post opposite showcases the new crit building at the Kent School of Architecture. It was of particular
personal interest to me as I had been a student at the university and seen how it had progressed from the
initial concept phase through to completion.
Competition KSA Exit: 12 Annex Renovation
The competition brief challenged us to improve the exterior of the annex buildings to coincide with the
theme for the end of year show - peep show.
Our group scheme concentrated heavily on the relationship between outside and inside, graduating
years and non graduating years.
There was a strong emphasis on the use of wooden fins which could be manipulated to create either
the rib structure for the roof, vertical personalised posts or the condensed frames which enclose the
graduating wing.
