Dr. Sargent stated that at this point in August the district is working with great energy to
prepare the classrooms and schools for the return of students and staff members. There are
a number of facility projects underway and everything should be completed in time for
Opening Day. These projects include roof replacements at Lake Parsippany School and
Troy Hills School, an auxiliary gymnasium floor replacement at PHS, updated Home Eco-
nomics rooms at CMS and PHS, a new track at PHHS and new bleachers at BMS. This
has required a good deal of coordination among our Buildings and Grounds, Custodial and
Township officials and the district appreciates the work ethic displayed by all this summer.
New Staff Orientation was held this week with 20 elementary staff, 24 middle/high school
staff and 7 pupil services staff. These sessions are run by the Curriculum Office and con-
nect our newest hires with all the information and resources they need to have as successful
school year.
All district staff will return for meetings and classroom preparation on Wednesday and
Thursday next week. School begins for students on Tuesday, September 3.
