The upkeep of a building that is over half a century old is significant and places considerable strain on our diminishing income. The recent refurbishment programme, the majority of which involved the replacement and upgrading of existing services, has added to this. While the resultant debt is reasonably manageable, its servicing means that other essential work to the fabric of the church complex, along with any development of facilities, must be placed on hold. The Parish Finance Committee has been grappling with this issue for some considerable time. After careful consideration and debate it has been decided that the disposal of the Parochial House, in the grounds of the church, offers a solution that will secure the finances of the parish, going forward. The fact that this building is vacant and represents an ongoing and significant maintenance and upkeep cost to the parish, has been an important factor in a decision that has not been taken lightly. Parishioners will be aware the parish has a second house, where Fr. Brian lives, which is cost effective to maintain. Although the Parochial House will hold many memories for our senior parishioners, we hope they, along with our other parishioners, will support this important initiative. Parish Finance Committee. Are you travelling abroad?

You are welcome to call to the office or sacristy to get the mass leaflets for the weekends you are away. Those going to mass in a foreign language find this helpful. We usually have a supply of leaflets two months ahead of time. There is also a great iphone or smart phone app called "iMissal" which is excellent for the readings. It does not use data when you're travelling. Try it out. It has all the weekday readings too, so it can be used even if you are not travelling.
