Welcome, Thank you for your patronage of The University of Arizona Parking & Transportation Services. We have many parking and transportation options available to students, visitors, faculty, and staff. We have a parking or transportation option suitable for your needs.
We encourage and support alternative transportation by provid-ing bicycle parking at all buildings, buss pass subsidies, car sharing, CatTran shuttle service, bike sharing, and carpool pro-grams. For more information please call 520-626-PARK or visit our website at www.parking.arizona.edu.
If you have any questions regarding parking and transportation at the University of Arizona, please contact Parking and Trans-portation Services at 520-626-PARK or visit our website at www.parking.arizona.edu.
Transportation Programs Cat Tran On Campus Shuttle Service A free service, that is especially great for those hot or rainy days. UA students, employees, and visitors can ride the CatTran shuttles around campus on six different routes. The CatTran operates M-F, 6:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. and the Night Cat operates M-F, 6:30 P.M. to 1:00 A.M.
GPS Tracking GPS tracking information is available for the CatTran. This operation allows a passenger the ability to track the shuttle and determine the estimated time of arrival, allowing for a more convenient and efficient form of transportation.
Carpool Program UA students and employees can purchase a carpool permit and split the cost when forming a carpool with 3 or more people. Participants have access to the reserved carpooling spaces in one of the UA parking garages or lots.
UA Zimride A private ride sharing network for the UA that allows members to interact online and form carpools based on shared routes, schedules, and interests. Passengers can browse for an available ride and drivers can charge their passengers a fee for the ride.
Zipcar Car Sharing A program that provides hourly car rentals for UA students and employees 18 years of age and older. Insurance, fuel, a GPS system, and iPod and Bluetooth connectivity is included in the cost of the rental. Great for a trip to the grocery store or a movie.
Sun Tran & Sun Link U-Pass PTS subsidizes 50% of the cost of a U-Pass to give UA students and employees unlimited access to the Sun Tran routes and streetcar at half the price.
Motorist Assistance Program A free program to assist drivers who experience car trouble on campus. Free services include helping drivers who: locked their keys in their car, need a jump start or flat tire repair, re-quire help locating their vehicles, or are running low on fuel.
Tucson Modern Streetcar “SunLink” The Streetcars began operating in Summer 2014 and links the University of Arizona to downtown Tucson. The 3.9-mile route consists of 22 stops and has capacity for 180 people in each trip.
Pay Stations and Pay by Phone App The solar-powered digital Pay Stations accept credit cards and Cat Cards, providing a convenient way for drivers to pay for parking. Pay by Phone app can be downloaded onto smart phones allowing drivers to add more time while away from their cars.
Disability Cart Service A free service for UA students and employees with a tempo-rary or permanent disability who need help getting around campus. The disability carts access areas on campus where the CatTran shuttles do not go. Carts operate M-F, 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Bicycle Programs The UA is a bicyclist’s paradise with over 7 miles of expansive and beautifully landscaped bike paths, around 11,000 free bicycle parking spaces, and an abundance of programs and services to support bicycle-travel around campus.
“Cat Wheels” Bike Sharing UA students and employees can enjoy a bicycle ride around campus without owning a bike. This service provides free bike rentals from 9 different locations on campus.
Campus Bicycle Station A one stop shop for bicyclists experiencing bike trouble on campus. This free service provides bicyclists with minor ad-justments, bike repairs, registration, and information.
Bike Fix-it Stands The 6 Bike Fix-it stands on campus are available 24/7 for bicyclists to service their own bikes free of charge. Each stand has an air pump, tire lever, wrenches, and screwdrivers.
Bike Valet A free service that provides UA students and employees with a higher level of protection against bike theft on campus. Bikes are parked in a secure and enclosed area and are closely monitored by bike attendants.
Visitor Parking
Parking Garages Visitor parking is available in any of the seven garages on campus from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 Midnight. Some garages do become full to visitors so please plan a parking alternative. Visit www.parking.arizona.edu for real time garage availability.
Second Street Garage—$2/hr, $10 daily maximum per visit. All other garages—$2/hr, $8 daily maximum per visit.
Parking pay stations/Metered spaces Visitors may park in any available metered space and pay at the multi-space meter. These spaces are available throughout campus—see map for locations of parking pay stations. Parking spaces are nearby and cost$1.65/hr.
Event Parking Call 520-621-3300 to let us help you plan the parking for your event.
Visitor Programs Call 520-621-3710 for visitor programs.
Permit Parking
Garage Permits Garage permits are valid 24 hrs/day. Occasionally the garage will read full for visitors—this does not apply to a permit holder who may still enter and exit. Do not park in signed spaces.
Surface Parking Surface parking is controlled 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. unless otherwise noted. Please check the local lot signs.
Other Parking Notes
Lot Closures There may be occasions that a lot or area is closed for a special event, maintenance, or other reason. Please note all signage at the entrance to the lot. Permit holders will be notified of all closures and provided with alternative parking.
Disabled/Reserved/Service Parking Spaces may be marked with signage or pavement markings. Disabled and reserved spaces are controlled at all times. Other areas are controlled as noted on the signage. Failure to follow signage could result in a fine or impoundment of your vehicle.
