Herts. 2018 June Welcome and thank you for choosing to live in our Village! It’s an historic village dating back to Roman times, which is part of St Stephens Parish and whilst in a rural setting we are just 3 miles from the ancient city of St. Albans. The PSRA Story Park Street & District Residents’ Association (PSRA) was formed in 1966 to represent the views of the local people and support the best interests of the community in general. We are actively involved in organising and supporting local activities to enhance village life and strive to make the local area a desirable place to live and work. Each year we organise a range of events and activities in our village including Christmas lights switch-on, bi monthly litter picks, and an annual cheese and wine evening to say thank you to our volunteers. We are also active in events in our Parish of St. Stephen, such as the Christmas Carol Service, Remembrance Day Service and a Best Kept Front Gardens competition. More recently in autumn 2017 we hosted a Well-being day involving holistic therapies and children’s events. Our promise to you We monitor local planning on Greenbelt and proposed industrial development. We are actively involved with The Neighbourhood Plan (the vision for village development) and work closely with the Parish Council to improve the facilities and lifestyle. We spearheaded the opposition of a development at the Park Street/A414 roundabout site and continue to actively oppose the international Rail Freight Terminal proposed for the Radlett Aerodrome site. We want to improve our village. In recent years, PSRA, with support from Countryside Management Services redeveloped an area of local woodland, How Wood. It’s now an attractive area and we invite you to enjoy it We are interested in the safety of our residents. In 2016-17 with local business sponsorship we put up safety barriers by the recreational grounds to keep children and everyone safe. In 2017-18 we enhanced the White Gates at the entrance to the village (by Bricket Wood) with support from a St Albans City Councillor. We also revamped the Christmas Lights up at How Wood shops.

Welcome and thank you for choosing to live in our Village!

It’s an historic village dating back to Roman times, which is part of St Stephens

Parish and whilst in a rural setting we are just 3 miles from the ancient city of St.

Albans.

The PSRA Story Park Street & District Residents’ Association (PSRA) was formed in 1966 to represent the views of the local people and support the best interests of the community in general. We are actively involved in organising and supporting local activities to enhance village life and strive to make the local area a desirable place to live and work.
