Jesus is Lord!
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Thank you to all our parishioners and friends that helped sell our Fall Super 50/50 raffle tickets that reached $59,030.00. What an amazing total! Congratulations to our parishioners and winner of the Super 50/50 Vicki Mrozinski! Special thanks to Hank Pekarsky and team who ran this successful raffle!
That Man is You! (TMIY!) new semester began last Saturday. That Man is You! honestly addresses the pressures and temptations that men face in our modern culture, especially those relating to their roles as husbands and fathers. The program harmonizes current social and medical science with the teachings of the Church and the wisdom of the Saints to develop the vision of man fully alive! This semester is focusing on the spiritual battle for the families. We live in a crazy time and I cannot think of a better topic for today’s husbands and fathers. I want to make a special invitation to all fathers with young families to attend TMIY! this coming Saturday morning. Your family needs you to attend! The TMIY! meetings begin at 6:30 am in the basement of Saint Mary Chapel.
The Women’s Discipleship Meetings began their new season this past Wednesday on Zoom. Darlene Line will lead the women in a series of teachings entitled "God's Road Map to Salvation--The 7 Annual Festivals of the Lord" found in Leviticus 23. God’s redemptive plan of restoration and reconciliation will be our focus as it stretches forward into eternity. Darlene will bind it all together into a series of wonderful teachings uniting the Old and New Testaments. For the internet safety of all, please register by Tuesday to attend the meeting. Register your name and email with Pat Moller at [email protected]
All parishioners are invited to join us for the Thursday Night Prayer Meeting on Zoom. These Prayer Meetings have been held each Thursday evening since April and has been truly anointed evenings. To join us on the Zoom meeting visit our parish webpage at www.stmarychurchnj.org or www.DOTCCR.org. All are welcome.
There will be two special Masses this week. Tuesday, September 29th, is the Feast of the Archangels. At 7:00 pm in the Church there will be the praying of the Chaplet of Saint Michael to invoke the intercession and protection the Holy Angels of God. Following the chaplet, at 7:30 pm. Father Rick will celebrate Holy Mass. All are invited to attend. On Friday, October 2nd, I will be the celebrant at the First Friday Healing Mass in the Church at 6:30 pm. Malena Towers and the “Saved by Grace Worship Band” will lead the songs of praise and worship. If you have any special prayer intentions for Healing Mass please email them to at [email protected] or on our parish webpage at stmarychurchnj.org.
As you can see from all the events this week, there are wonderful opportunities to encounter the Lord! We are Blessed!
Have a blessed week!

Pope Francis: Church becomes sick when not proclaiming Gospel
VATICAN CITY – If the Church fails to go out and proclaim the Gospel to those who are lost or forgotten, it risks falling ill to the evil that is committed by its own members, Pope Francis said. Speaking to pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square during his Angelus address Sept. 20, the Pope said that just as God "calls everyone and calls always," the Church must also "offer everyone the word of salvation that Jesus came to bring." "The Church needs to be like God: always going out; and when the Church does not go out, it becomes sick with the many evils we have in the Church," the Pope said. "And why are these illnesses in the Church?" he asked. "Because she does not go out. It is true that when someone goes out there is the danger of getting into an accident. But it is better a Church that gets into accidents because it goes out to proclaim the Gospel than a Church that is sick because it stays in." In his address, the Pope reflected on the Sunday Gospel reading in which Jesus recounts the parable of the landowner who goes out several times a day to hire laborers for his vineyard. The Pope said that the image of the landowner going out repeatedly to look for workers was "touching" because it represents God who "acts this way." God, he said, "continues to call anyone, at whatever hour, to invite them to work in his kingdom. This is God's style, which we in turn are called to receive and to imitate. He does not stay shut in within his world, but 'goes out.' God always goes out, in search of us. He is not closed up – God goes out. He continually seeks out people because he does not want anyone to be excluded from his loving plan." The Pope also emphasized how the landowner paid all the employees the same no matter how long they had worked. Like the landowner, the Pope explained, God "always pays the maximum amount. He does not pay halfway; he pays everything. In this way, it is understood that Jesus is not speaking about work and just wages – that is another problem – but about the kingdom of God and the goodness of the heavenly Father who goes out continually to invite, and he pays everyone the maximum amount." Pope Francis reminded the faithful that those who use human logic and complain that God's compensation is not based on merits would do well to remember the first saint. "Let us remember who was the first canonized saint in the Church: the good thief," the Pope said. "He 'stole' paradise at the last minute of his life: this is grace. This is what God is like, even with us. Instead, those who try to think of their own merits, fail; those who humbly entrust themselves to the Father's mercy, from being last – like the good thief – find themselves first."

St. Mary's Women's Discipleship invites you to join us every Wednesday night
at 7:30 PM on Zoom. ALL women are welcome as we unite remotely and
safely to enjoy an evening of praise, prayer, scripture, and fellowship. For the
next several weeks, Darlene Line will lead us in a series of scripture studies
entitled: GOD'S CALENDAR---HIS ROAD MAP TO REDEMPTION as found in
the Book of Leviticus. The 7 annual Fall festivals of the Lord were an integral
part of Jesus's life and show us God's Redemptive Plan of Restoration and Reconciliation. We hear them
mentioned in the Gospels. Darlene will tie together the New Testament and the Old Testament scriptures for
us so that we can have a fuller understanding of God's plan for us from eternity. Come, be a part of our faith
journey! Let your heart soar as Malena Towers leads us in praise and prayer. To sign up for the ZOOM link
or for any questions, please call Pat Moller at 732-671-0671. There is no charge. Come, Holy Spirit!

The Chaplet of St. Michael
O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, etc.
[Say one Our Father and three Hail Mary's after each of the following nine salutations in honor of the nine Choirs of Angels]
1. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Seraphim may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect charity. Amen.
2. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Cherubim may the Lord grant us the grace to leave the ways of sin and run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen.
3. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility. Amen.
4. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Dominations may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and overcome any unruly passions. Amen.
5. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Virtues may the Lord preserve us from evil and falling into temptation. Amen.
6. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Powers may the Lord protect our souls against the snares and temptations of the devil. Amen.
7. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Principalities may God fill our souls with a true spirit of obedience. Amen.
8. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Archangels may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all good works in order that we may attain the glory of Heaven. Amen.
9. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Angels may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in this mortal life and conducted in the life to come to Heaven. Amen.
Say one Our Father in honor of each of the following leading Angels: St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael and our Guardian Angel.
Concluding prayers:
O glorious prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the Divine King and our admirable conductor, you who shine with excellence and superhuman virtue deliver us from all evil, who turn to you with confidence and enable us by your gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.
Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus Christ, that we may be made worthy of His promises.
Almighty and Everlasting God, Who, by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, has appointed the most glorious Archangel St. Michael Prince of Your Church, make us worthy, we ask You, to be delivered from all our enemies, that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into Your Presence. This we ask through the merits of Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

RITE TO LIFE
If the spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then One who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies, through His spirit that
dwells in you. ROM 8:11
The Holy Spirit gives life, bringing forth creation at the beginning of time, descending upon Mary to bring about the incarnation, bringing forth the Eucharist from mere bread and wine, and descending upon the graves of God’s people to raise them from bread and
wine, and descending upon the graves of God’s people to raise them form the dead.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, come and work through your people to build the culture of life. Keep us close to You: fill us with Yourself.
PRAY TO END ABORTION WWW.40DAYSFORLIFE.COM
Dear St. Mary Parishioners,
The St. Mary’s Respect Life Committee once again invites you to join in the “40 Days for Life” prayerful vigil in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion center on Newman Springs Road, Shrewsbury, on Tuesdays, starting September 25th, running for six weeks, until October 30th. Pro-Life attendees quietly walk and pray in front of the building for one hour, each Tuesday. Participation hours are at 8:00 am to 6:00pm each Tuesday. Other parishes are covering the other days of the week if Tuesdays are not convenient for you. Of course, due to the pandemic, we will practice social distancing. It is outside, but masks are advised.
Please contact Bill Large, at 732-778-0776 or email [email protected] if you would like to schedule an hour, even if for only one of the six Tuesdays.
Thank you, Bill Large
Dear Parishioners,
Parish Giving is the premier electronic on-line giving and payment system for church
communities throughout the nation. Parish Giving is a safe, secure and easy way to make on-line
parish and church related donations and payments.
One major advantage of electronic giving is that it normalizes offertory collection in order to
properly budget for our parish. If you are on vacation, work or visiting family and friends and
are not able to worship with our parish community on Sunday, Parish Giving enables you to
continue the needed financially support for our mission and ministry here at Saint Mary’s.
Because of this stability in offertory collections, parishes who encourage parishioners to use
electronic giving see a 25% increase in weekly collections. We certainly need that at Saint
Mary’s.
So I would like to encourage you to sign up for Parish Giving. To do so, please visit our webpage
at www.stmarychurchnj.org and click the “Parish Giving” button on the top right of the page.
This will bring you to the Parish Giving page for Saint Mary’s. It is very easy to sign up. If you
have any questions about Parish Giving, please feel free to call the parish office.
Thank you for your consideration and thank you for all your financial support to our parish
community of Saint Mary’s. As I keep saying, “we are blessed!”
In Jesus and Mary,
Father Jeff Kegley
Pastor
