Please use the November envelopes provided and write on it the names of your family members and place them in any of the two collections or give them to Fr Roberto. The offerings you place in the envelopes are used to support your priests. The Church has believed from the beginning the importance to offer prayers and masses for those who have died, asking God to take them quickly to heaven. At the end of the second century Tertullian, who was a prolific early Christian author from Carthage, spoke about the custom of offering Mass on the anniversary of their death for those who have died: “We offer the sacrifice for the deceased on the anniversary of on their birthday.
