3rd Sunday of Advent - Time of Joy During Advent, we frequently hear about John the Baptist and his role as herald on behalf of Christ. We should be inspired to model ourselves after him, considering ways in which we too can proclaim our Christian witness. The third Sunday of Advent is Gaudete (Rejoice) Sunday, and the first and second readings aptly emphasize the importance of joy at this point in the season. As we journey through Advent, we should carefully consider today’s readings and how they prepare us to encounter Christ on Christmas and always. At this halfway point in Advent, we are called to be Christian witnesses like John the Baptist, heed prophetic voices and rejoice in God’s saving power and love. (Traducción en la página 7)

Help the Needy With Some Food for the Holidays

This month the Food Pantry distributed food to the many needy families of our parish just in me for Thanksgiving. One holiday down, one more to go. We will now begin accep ng food dona ons for the Christmas Holiday. Remember, many families in our parish community are having a tough me trying to make ends meet during this pandemic. Your dona ons to our Food Pantry can help make a difference in the lives of these struggling families. Our Social Concerns Commi ee distributes canned and non-perishable food items once a month to over 200 needy families. Please try to be a li le more generous as we plan to distribute food just in me for Christmas on Saturday, December 19. You may drop off the canned and non-perishable food items at the Parish Office. Your help can put food on the table and hope back into the lives of our brothers and sisters facing hardships during this me. Thank you for your con nued support of our Food Pantry.

Despensa de Alimentos Muchas familias en nuestra comunidad parroquial están pasando por malos momentos durante esta pandemia. Nuestro Comité de Asuntos Sociales distribuye alimentos una vez al mes a más de 200 familias necesitadas. Por favor ayúdenos trayendo algunos alimentos enlatados a la oficina. Le pedimos que sean un poco más generosos ya que estamos planificando distribuir los alimentos para la Navidad el sábado, 19 de diciembre. Adviento - Tiempo de alegría Con frecuencia escuchamos, durante el Adviento, sobre Juan el Bau sta y su papel como heraldo en nombre de Cristo. Debe inspirarnos a seguir su modelo, considerando las formas en las que también nosotros podemos proclamar nuestro tes monio cris ano. El tercer domingo de Adviento es el domingo de Gaudete (Regocíjate), y la primera y la segunda lectura enfa zan acertadamente la importancia del gozo en este momento de la temporada. Misas en español el sábado (An cipación): 6:30 p.m. el domingo: 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. y 6:00 p.m. Misas en inglés el sábado: 5:00 p.m. el domingo: 9:30 a.m. y 12:00 p.m.
