Festival 2020 The 2020 Festival will be August 24-29, 2020. This will be the first time in the history of the festival where it will be held at the end of the summer instead of the beginning of the summer – maybe it won’t rain! Plans are underway and excitement is in the air! High schoolers, this will provide you with a fun way to fulfill service hours early in the school year. Mark your calendar, this will be a fun event to end our summer and begin the school year!
Bans of Marriage I. Gerard Rau (St. Mary) and Christine Ferguson
Mass Intentions The scheduled Mass Intentions are being said during the livestream masses and during the private masses being said by our priests. There are still intentions available at both churches.
Is Your Information Accurate in Our Records? As you update your Census this year with the govern-ment, please think about the records we have for you. Are they correct? Have you dropped your landline, but forgot to update your cell phone? Have you moved recently and don’t get your Sunday envelopes anymore? Would you like to be contacted electronically instead of the United States mail?
Please contact the rectory at either St. Mary or St. Ursula to make any changes to your records.
If you don’t ever hear from us, you might not be a registered member. Registration is available online!

Faith Sharing Body and Blood of Christ Where do you get your bread? Is it fresh baked, or packaged on the supermarket shelf? This week we are reminded that Jesus is “the Bread that came down from heaven…Living Bread”. If you want to have life that will never end, come to eat of the Living Bread. Jesus promises, “whoever eats This Bread will live forever, and I will raise him on the last day.”
Faith Formation at St. Mary Lessons have been returned to our Faith Formation office and are being reviewed by their catechists. Congratulations to the parents who monitored their childrens’ faith lessons as well as all the online studies from their respective schools. More Congratulations to so many who faithfully participat-ed in livestreamed liturgies and continued to pray daily for all challenged by the pandemic.
Keep Praying!
Confirmation Please continue to pray for our Confirmation Candidates as they eagerly await a new date.
Easter Pew Photos Thank you for allowing us to add your family photo to the pews for the Easter Season! All “original” photos are available for pick up at the rectory, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Photos that had been copied and given to us were not saved.
Baptized in Christ Connor Michael Cavlovich

BTA How are your children being engaged through their learning during this unprecedented time? At Blessed Trinity Academy, our students are still engaging in rigorous course work 5 days a week. Teachers are using Google Meets, research, presentations, videos and other methods to create a dynamic learning experience for our students so that they are prepared to move on to the next grade level at the end of the school year. BTA is now accepting registrations for the 2020-2021 school year. Parking Lot/Field Masses The first parking lot & field Masses at St. Ursula & St. Mary were held last Sunday. They went pretty smoothly; we learned a few things that are being tweaked. For those considering the Mass at St. Ursula next week (and future weeks), if we fill the main parking lot, you can park in the small lot off Duncan along Kirk Ave. If needed, the ball field may be used, (unless the field is wet) but you won't be able to see the Mass. The team of ushers will help direct you to the best space. The mass can be heard on the FM station 91.7 when in close proximity to the mass. Thank you to all who made the parking lot Mass possible at St. Ursula: Jan Kowalski, Jim McGuire (and team), Janet Hanson, Paddy Drzemiecki, Bill McQuaide, Tim Hanna, Ski, Jack Verderber, Mark Paganico, and Bill Bailey. Thank you to all who made the field mass possible at St. Mary: Edith Bishop, Bob Kardasz, Mary Ann Coholich, Frank Ruffa, Jeff Pflumm, Dave Wilson, and the ever faithful Knights of Columbus. Thank you to Fr. Tim, Fr. Ernie, Fr. Joe, Deacon Fran, Deacon Rick, and all liturgical ministers. It is wonderful to be able to worship together again. We hope to see more people next week!
Home with the Lord St. Mary & St. Ursula Remember Lord and welcome into your Kingdom those who have died and have gone before us marked in the sign of faith, especially Antoinette Pilarski, former principal of 15 years at St. Mary School; Andrea Parrotto; Howard F. Claus; Daniel R. Stepnick; and Patricia Smith, sister of Jane Sutter. Please remember to pray for the consolation of their loved ones.
Flea Market Update
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have no choice but to cancel the St. Mary Flea Market schedule for July. We know this is a disappointment.
We are currently exploring the idea of a “virtual” flea market using social media to sell donated items. Unfortunately, we will only be able to accept items that we can sell on internet sites and not be able to accept some of the smaller items such as plastics, glassware, knick-knacks, linens, mugs or other small items but it will provide some much-needed revenue to St. Mary Parish.
We need a place to store the donations. Do you have a large garage, barn or storage shed you could lend us for a couple of months? We promise to be out of it by next summer and we will leave it in better shape than we found it! Please call either Theresa Benedek at 412-486-4787 or Kate DiGirolamo at 412-901-8081 if you can help us. We are excited for the opportunity to offer a virtual St. Mary of the Assumption Flea Market!
