Parish Bulletin of
Old Mission Santa Inés
January 31 & February 1, 2015 Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
(Deuteronomy 18:15-20; 1 Corinthians 7:32-35; Mark 1:21-28)
As our Parish kitchen will be out of action for at least two months during
the remodeling process, we have made the following decisions. First, the
Lenten Soup Suppers will become a (soup-less) Lenten speaker series
for five weeks beginning on Wednesday, February 25, at 7:00 PM.
Secondly, Youth Ministry is postponing their popular Senior Citizens
Prom until April 24. And third, this year's St. Patrick's Dinner will be
cancelled. We look forward to many festive events in the future using
our new kitchen!

From Our Pastor
2015 Together in Mission Appeal
Our Holy Father Pope Francis has enlivened the
Church. He asks us to renew our spirit of evangeliza-
tion. Together in Mission provides recipient parishes
and schools with the funds to do that through their
ministries and education.
The funds we collect will directly benefit more than
250,000 of our Catholic brothers and sisters through-
out the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including many parishes close to
home, and will ensure that our parishes and schools remain centers of
faith and hope for their surrounding communities.
Archbishop Gomez will soon be sending letters to those who have gen-
erously given to Together in Mission in the past. February 14/15 is
Commitment Weekend, when we will all make our
pledges. Please be considering your generous support
of this year’s appeal. Be sure to see the brochure in
next week’s parish bulletin—you will be amazed at the
effectiveness of this program, which is restricted solely
to helping struggling parishes and schools. May God
bless you!
Fr. Gerald

Did You Know?
How to Report
Inappropriate or
Illegal Content
on the Internet.
One of the main reasons that children
do not report the inappropriate con-
tent they find online is fear of pun-
ishment from parents. If you let them
know that it is not their fault if they
come across an inappropriate site,
they will be more willing to come to
you when it happens. If your children
ever show you a site that contains
illegal behavior, such as pornograph-
ic images of children, contact your
Internet service provider and the
Cyber Tip line at www.cybertip
