IMPORTANT! Parish Pay Online Donations

Our electronic “giving service”, Parish Pay, has been acquired by Liturgical Publications (LPI). It will become WE SHARE on October 19, 2017. ALL CURRENT, 150 PARISH PAY SUBSCRIB-ERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE TRANSFER-RED to the WE SHARE system on that date. We have been assured by the Archdiocese of New York that this process is very easy and very safe. All current Parish Pay subscribers will receive an e-mail from WE SHARE, notifying them of the change. The e-mail will include simple instructions for verifying your account information on the WE SHARE system. You will be asked to: log in to the site via the Parish Pay link on the home page of the Holy Trinity Church website [htcny.org] and follow the prompts to verify your account information. Please be on the lookout for the e-mail, and thank you for using this online system, which provides a steady stream of your (generous) donations throughout the year. What a parish!

* * * * * * * * A Word from Our Music Director

October marks both the 119th Anniversary of the founding of our parish as well as the 20th Anniversary of the installation of the Monsignor Thomas P. Leonard Létourneau pipe organ here at Holy Trinity. We are blessed to have one of the finest pipe organs in the northeastern U.S., and our beautiful organ has led us in song and prayer for the past two decades. The anniversary will be commemorated with special music at the 11:15 Mass this weekend. Please note: for those who wish to make a donation, you may do so at any time by simply putting a check in any collection or sending to the Church Office with “MUSIC” in the memo line.

Mission Sunday Collection We will have a second collection next week for World Missions Sunday, part of the Propagation of the Faith

Altar Server Practices Kevin Mc Kenna and Msgr. Sandi will continue the practices for boys and girls, Grade 5 through High School Seniors, who have decided to be Holy Trinity Acolytes (altar servers). We shall meet on every October Saturday at 10:00, and every October Sunday at 4:00 in the church. They must attend three sessions in no special order. Remaining practice dates are: 4:00 PM, Sunday afternoons, Oct 15, 22 10:00 AM, Saturday mornings, Oct 21, 28

Sophia, ChurchMouse Reporting unseen works of faith, hope and charity to uplift you.

Have you noticed … we are hearing on television, seeing online, and reading in print, about moral imperatives, moral leadership, moral respon-sibility, and even moral authority? How about that?! It’s been years since that powerful adjective was used so forcefully and earnestly, other than around the family table, and in churches, synagogues and mosques! See, when pushed against the wall by pervasive, irrational realities, most of us sense and desire something (dare we say, Someone) greater than us and our limited opinions. We’re onto something here! “Moral principles do not depend on a majority vote. Wrong is wrong, even if everybody is wrong. Right is right, even if nobody is right.” (Blessed [Bishop] Fulton J. Sheen

+ The ABC’s of “Raising Kids Catholic – Pt. III +

By Bert Ghezzi Use the sacraments as a source of strength. Participating in the Sacraments brings the Holy Spirit into our daily lives. Value vocations and encourage them. The Lord may be in-viting one of our kids to be a priest, a sister, or a brother – or to serve Him in some other dedicated way. We should encourage our children to consider such service. Witness to your experience of God. Help your kids find a personal relationship with God by telling them about your own relationship. EXplore the truths of the faith. Study the faith not only for your own growth, but to be better prepared to pass on the faith to your children. Yield to the Holy Spirit. Yielding to the Spirit means doing what we can, but prayerfully depending on the Spirit to pro-duce the right outcome. We parents raise the sails. Then we let the breezes of the Spirit fill them and move things ahead. Of course there is no Z because we don’t know everything there is to know about raising our kids Catholic. But let’s pool our wisdom and help each other do a better job.

Pastor Away: This Week In a continuing effort to keep you informed, from Oct. 16th-20th, Monsignor Sandi and about 100 other Arch-diocesan pastors will meet at the Annual Pastors’ Convocation at the Breakers Hotel, Spring Lake, NJ.
