WHY CONTINUE WITH DUKE OF EDINBURGH
• Continue to develop your social and communication skills
• Continue to develop ‘life skills’ that will support you in
examinations and higher education
• Get out of your comfort zone!
• Continue to celebrate your achievements with presentation
evenings, culminating in a trip to St. James’ Palace.
• Stand out from the crowd when applying for college,
university or jobs
• Continue with an award that is endorsed by some of the
UK’s biggest company’s.
DUKE OF EDINBURGH FORMAT
• Students will complete three elements of the award in
school
• YCP will lead the expedition element of the award
• Gold award students will also need to complete their own
residential component of the award
• Students will need to ensure documents and e-DofE forms
are completed in their own time
• Failure to complete one element can result in failure to
achieve overall award
SILVER AWARD SECTION BREAKDOWN
• THREE SECTIONS THAT STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE
PHYSICAL
3 OR 6 MONTHS MINIMUM 1 HOUR PER

Activities include: Athletics Boxing Golf
Horse Riding Sailing Karate Dance Tennis Squash

• A not-for-profit organisation (Community Interest Company)
• Approved Activity Provider (AAP)
• Adventurous Activities License (AALA)
• 50+ combined years of experience working with local young
people and delivering the DofE award within Sefton
• Extensive experience of working with a range of different
groups – age, ability, needs – with or without experience of
team-focussed activity around expeditioning
• Routes are designed to be challenging but achievable
• Second year running our Duke of Edinburgh
