Parent Support Night
Equip & Empower
Objectives (Why?)
● Explain the difference between the two Learning Management
Systems (Canvas & Odysseyware)
● Determine students real-time progress and grades in Canvas
and Odysseyware
● Arrange academic support and intervention for your student
The Learning Management Systems
Canvas● Most courses will be done entirely in
Canvas, including all of the following: ○ Language Arts 1 and 2○ World History ○ Biology○ Chemistry○ Integrated Math I, II, and III○ Electives (History of Motion Pictures,
Yearbook, HLOI/Ren)● Some courses are run using Odysseyware
as the curriculum, but teachers use Canvas to calculate grades, collect notes, and track participation, including these classes:
○ Spanish○ Computer Apps○ Physical Education
Observing Students in Canvas
Odysseyware
● Parents can view student progress in Odysseyware through the Odysseyware parent account.
● This afternoon, accounts were created for all parents of our HSOI students. Please check your email (including Spam and Junk folders) for an email from Odysseyware to get logged in and view your student’s progress.
Physical Education Procedures
● Students will complete their P.E. logs virtually using Google Sheets. ● Students created a copy of the P.E. log for the month of August. Students can view this
log by going to their Google Drive at: drive.google.com or go straight to their Google Sheets at sheets.google.com
● HOWEVER, students cannot view the sheet if they are logged into any other google account aside from their district account.
● Login procedures for students: ○ When students initially go to sign in, they will need to enter their district email address:
ID#@Students.cnusd.k12.ca.us○ They will then be taken to another screen, where they will enter JUST their student ID and their
password. If they enter their email address, they will receive an error message. ● Here is the spreadsheet students will use
Tabs for each individual month are already built in to your student’s copy of the log.
