    Dear Parents:

    Our much ancipated week of Classroom Without Walls has arrived. Be-

    ginning on Monday, February 10 unl February 14, all of the Middle

    School students will be involved in acvies that will raise their aware-

    ness about the Philippines and engage them with our service learning

    partners. In addion to learning about culture, the students interact with

    children and adults from local communies and discover ways that theycan be acve, empathec cizens. During the weekend, please insure

    that your child is prepared for their parcular trip. When they return,

    also take me to engage your child and discuss ways that your child can

    build on the experience.

    In November students had school pictures taken. The photographer will

    be back onTuesday, February 18for retakes of students that were absent

    during the rst round. New students will also be photographed on this

    day.

    Our next parent coee is onThursday, February 20 starng at 7:45 A.M.

    We look forward to meeng with you and sharing more about develop-

    ments with how we assess and grade students, along with changes to

    technology and how we use laptops in the middle school.

    THEN COME TO Academic Bowl Tryouts/ Pracces!!

    WHERE-Room P046 (Mrs. Birchenalls classroom)

    WHEN-Every Thursday, 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

    The successful students will represent ISM at the second semester Academic Bowl compe-

    on which is to be held at Faith Internaonal School in March.

    All Middle School students are very welcome to come to the tryout/pracce sessions.

    To parcipate, students need to pick up a permission slip from the MS Oce on the Monday before the trip. Once its

    been signed and returned to the oce, a student can sign up on the roster. Some trips ll up quickly so encourage them

    to sign up early. Parents are welcome to join!

    MS/HS Sailsh Squads 5-7 have a shortened training schedule unl IASAS. Training will be from3:15 to 4:00 P.M. unl Feb 9th.

    It is IASAS week and our teams are in the thick of

    the acon right now giving their all at IASAS. Best

    wishes to all players and coaches for your pro-gress so far and for the nal day tomorrow. Go

    Bearcats!

    Venues for IASAS 2nd season championships are

    as follows. Jakarta for Basketball, Rugby/Touch

    We are pleased to inform you that your childs PowerSchool account may be accessed through the ISM Parent Portal.

    Aside from being a gateway to PowerSchool, the Parent Portal also provides informaon on school events, useful links,

    as well as child-specic academic blogs and student porolios. Should you need to make any changes to your contact

    informaon, visit the Parent Portal and follow the steps below:

    Leaving ISM?

    For those students that will be withdrawing from Internaonal School Manila this school year (SY 13

    -14), the following procedure applies:

    Parents are obliged to ocially inform the Admissions Oce in wring through a Withdrawal No-

    caon Form at least een (15) days prior to your childs last day of school.

    For those leaving at theend of the school year,you MUST submit a Withdrawal No-

    caon Form on or before May 09, 2014.

    Failure to do so will lead to a deducon of US$1,000 from the Facilies Upgrade Deposit (FUD) in

    compensaon for having held a space for the child and thus prevenng the School from oeringthat space to another child prior to the summer holiday break.

    The Withdrawal Nocaon Form can be obtained from the Admissions Oce or downloaded from

    the ISM website here.

    We hope that your child has had an enriching stay at ISM and wish you and your family the very

    best in the future.
