MASS TIMES
Anointing of the Sick
This year we will have the Sacrament,
Anointing of the Sick at John XXIII at 11am
and Holy Trinity at 7pm, on Wednesday 11th February.
Parishioners, 65 years and upwards would be prime candidates but
obviously younger people who may have health issues, be they
physical, emotional etc., may like to present themselves also.
So if you are younger and there is nothing really of concern,
you don’t need to receive the Sacrament of Anointing at present.

SHARING THE TRADITION
There are many different ways for Christians to pray: private meditation or contemplative prayer, the repeated mantras of Taize-style prayer, prayer through song, praying the Scriptures, the rosary, and the liturgy as the
formal public prayer of the church. There are prayers of blessing and
adoration, prayers of petition or intercession, prayers of thanksgiving and prayers of praise. The faithful can pray to the Father, the Son, the Spirit or to
Mary or particular saints as intercessors.

THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK
The Little Back Books for the season of Lent are once more available in the foyer before and after Mass. Also available at the Parish Office, they make a wonderful companion as we journey through the Lenten season. One page gives us a variety of quotes, information and timely thoughts, the other page walks us through Luke's passion narrative, a few verses at a time, with explanations and
reflections along the way. Six minutes is all we need in reading and meditation, spending a little time with the Lord.
At only $4-00 a great investment.
PLEASE NOTE
Masses resume at Holy Trinity on
Wednesday nights at 7pm from
11th February, 2015.
Masses resume at Modbury Hospital
at 11am on the 12th February, 2015.

CHUCKLE CORNER
MODERN GROCERY MARKETING
A new supermarket opened near my house. It has an automatic water mister to keep
produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the
smell of fresh rain.
When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent
of fresh mown hay.
In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks with onions.
When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled
with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.
The bread department
features the tantalising smell of fresh baked bread and
cookies.
I don’t buy toilet paper there anymore.
