PAR is EMV Ready. PAR IS EMV READY The United States credit card compa- nies are in the process of shiſting from the familiar magnec stripe card tech- nology to using an embedded chip card; this new standard for credit and debit cards is called EMV (Europay, MasterCard and VISA). EMV cards are more difficult to counterfeit, as a chip-based payment transacon occurs when a microprocessor embedded in a plasc card or mobile phone connects to an EMV-enabled POS terminal in order to execute payment. The smart card technology provides an addional point of card authencaon for the transacon, validang the legimacy of the payment type being used. Credit card companies hope to reduce fraud through the introducon of this tech- nology into the United States. All U.S. issued EMV chip cards will contain both a contact chip, and a magnec stripe. However, effecve October 1, 2015, the issuer or merchant who does not support EMV, assumes liability for iden- ty theſt and counterfeit fraud transac- ons. PAR in conjuncon with Brink, and PixelPoint will support this transi- on as EMV makes its domesc debut, and our hardware and soſtware will be EMV adaptable. TERMINALS & TABLETS PAR has developed methods to ensure interoperability between chip based payment lines and our hardware prod- ucts. Chip cards will be read through a separate credit card terminal, rather than the assimilated magnec stripe reader available on the POS terminals. Since PAR resells credit card terminals from a number of major vendors, our terminals will be supported by devices from the payment companies (Ingeni- co, Verifone etc.) through a Serial/USB port or network connected. Our PAR Tablet 8 will ensure an integrated way to mount the payment company’s devices to the back of it. The baery replacement door with the EMV mount screws right on to the back of the Tablet and the cradle insert is unique to the type of EMV device being used. Other opons are also being invesgat- ed and more informaon will be sent when available. Benefits of being EMV compliant: • Fraud reducon • Global interoperability • Will help foster the adop- on and integraon of other payment technologies • Reduced Audit costs - 30% to 60% decrease in per year audit costs • Reduced PCI Compliance Management • Decrease Corporate Expo- sure • Redirect IT Spend • Regain Flexibility - Update hardware and soſtware on your own melines

PAR is EMVReady.

PAR IS EMV READYThe United States credit card compa-nies are in the process of shifting from the familiar magnetic stripe card tech-nology to using an embedded chip card; this new standard for credit and debit cards is called EMV (Europay, MasterCard and VISA). EMV cards are more difficult to counterfeit, as a chip-based payment transaction occurs when a microprocessor embedded in a plastic card or mobile phone connects to an EMV-enabled POS terminal in order to execute payment. The smart card technology provides an additional point of card authentication for the transaction, validating the legitimacy of the payment type being used. Credit card companies hope to reduce fraud through the introduction of this tech-nology into the United States. All U.S. issued EMV chip cards will contain both a contact chip, and a magnetic stripe. However, effective October 1, 2015, the issuer or merchant who does not support EMV, assumes liability for iden-tity theft and counterfeit fraud transac-tions. PAR in conjunction with Brink, and PixelPoint will support this transi-

tion as EMV makes its domestic debut, and our hardware and software will be EMV adaptable.

TERMINALS & TABLETSPAR has developed methods to ensure interoperability between chip based payment lines and our hardware prod-ucts. Chip cards will be read through a separate credit card terminal, rather than the assimilated magnetic stripe reader available on the POS terminals. Since PAR resells credit card terminals from a number of major vendors, our terminals will be supported by devices from the payment companies (Ingeni-co, Verifone etc.) through a Serial/USB port or network connected. Our PAR Tablet 8 will ensure an integrated way to mount the payment company’s devices to the back of it. The battery replacement door with the EMV mount screws right on to the back of the Tablet and the cradle insert is unique to the type of EMV device being used. Other options are also being investigat-ed and more information will be sent when available.

BRINK POS The Brink POS system supports several integrated payment options for EMV and encryption (AurusPay, Mercury and VeriFone Point). PAR Brink POS will be EMV ready with the 3.4 release, which is currently pending PA DSS certification. With the 3.4 release, support for the VeriFone 915 device, and Point product will be included. VeriFone 915 supports EMV, and will remove any credit card processing from the Brink system. VeriFone Point takes the POS out of scope in order to remain PCI compliant. The cardholder’s data will never enter the POS and the 915 devices use point to point encryption. VeriFone Point, is the payment-as-a-service solution for simplifying payments. Point helps ease the integration of almost any new payment technology, vastly reducing the scope, time and expense of compliance and recertification. PAR customers Sonny’s BBQ and Five Guys will both be using VeriFone Point.

PIXELPOINTAs a global product, PixelPoint has supported EMV for many years. The PixelPoint U.S. strategy involves a shift to “out of scope” payment integrations. The first certified interface is to Datacap dsiPDCX for NETePAY payment middleware. This interface will be EMV certified with Mercury Payment Systems this summer, followed by EMV certifications to other payment processors as EMV certifi-cation specifics for each are available. Most of PixelPoint’s US channel partners already have existing reseller relation-ships with Datacap and/or Mercury Payment Systems, which will allow for a smooth transition.
