Alternatives and Migration Paths

Prologue• HP announced recently that – due to RoHS

compliancy issues – our Magneto-Optical (MO) and Ultra Density Optical (UDO) jukebox products have been discontinued as of June 30, 2006.

Notes

• Upgrade kits will be available until June 1, 2007 (or as demand dictates) that allow you to increase the capacity and drive count

• HP will provide replacement parts and support for a minimum of five years (until at least June 1st, 2011)

• HP will continue to sell MO and UDO media for the foreseeable future

“We have dramatically increased our control over the Exchange environment and secured one of our most business critical systems. Email is a growing nightmare for most IT managers, but we no longer worry about growing volumes, archiving or retention of email. With HP’s RISS mail archiving system the email is archived in a secure manner, and it takes only seconds to retrieve important information. In the IT department we are also very content with achieving a reduction of the storage need for email with 50% and at the same time knowing that business critical information is not lost.”Bjørn Tore Gullord

Quote slide“The ability to search through information and retrieve it quickly is key for an organization such as CODA. With HP RISS, the corporate knowledge associated with several years’ worth of digitized documents is now accessible.”

Richard Hall, group IT manager CODA

“Our RISS users are so self-sufficient thatNASDAQ needs fewer IT staff for retrieval. RISS is a practical and valuable product, which satisfies a specific need we have right now for e-mail retention and retrieval. It also represents the first step toward a broader and strategic ILM vision that NASDAQ can leverage now and in the future."
