Capo Smoke Pit Closure Effective May 13, the smoking area across from the C4I building dumpsters and adjacent to Capo’s Admin III (Building 442B) is closed. Smoking is no longer permitted in this area due to concerns about employee exposure to secondhand smoke. New iPhone App for Disaster Preparedness Community members can now download a free Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS) app from the Apple App Store on their iPhone. The new smartphone application includes information on disaster resources, weather and customized emergency kits based on a person’s location and family composition. The app also links to the NFAAS mobile website. To access the NFAAS mobile web application, go to https://navyfamily.navy.mil from your mobile device. The Android version of the NFAAS app is expected soon. Carney Park Lodging Now Available for Festa Americana All cabins, yurts, and tent sites are open for reservations during Festa Americana (NSA Naples’ Fourth of July celebration). This year's event will be held Saturday, June 29 and reservations must be made for at least two nights (i.e., Friday and Saturday). No drawing will be held for this year's event and accommodations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. A one-night deposit must be made for all reservations. Reminder: Delamping Lights at Capo to Save Energy Public Works Department Naples will soon begin delamping select exterior light fixtures at Capo to save energy. Utility costs account for one-fourth of NSA Naples’ operating budget. This project is expected to produce a cost savings of nearly $10,000 annually. If you notice that a light fixture that is out, please check the light post for a sticker that says, “This fixture has been delamped to SAVE ENERGY,” before reporting it to Public Works. May 23: Navy College Office to Administer ACT The Navy College Office is scheduled to administer the ACT on Thursday, May 23. The college office offers a version of the ACT that does not require an essay. The SAT will be administered on Thursday, June 20. May 26: Naples NATO Yacht Club Open Day The Naples NATO Yacht Club (NNYC) will begin its sailing season at Nisida with Open Day on Sunday, May 26.
