FADE IN.

EXT. WOODS. DAY

The camera work is shaky as we see our main character , DON,

running through the woods. He is young, around 17, with

grazes, cuts and mud on his face. He is breathing heavily

and scraping against twigs from trees. He holds his hands in

front of him, guarding his face from the twigs. He

eventually hides behind a tree to catch his breath.

The camera pans to the right and we see aninfected-like

creature searching for DON. Hepulls a knife from his jacket

and waits for the infected creature to come closer.The

infected creature sniffs out DON and heads towards his

direction.As he reaches him DONquickly lunges out to the

creature making him fall to the ground. He plunges the knife

rapidly with anger until the creature is lifeless. He stands

up, wipes the blood from his knife against his leg and

replaces it back in his jacket .

He kneels down and checks the pockets of the infected

creature. He pulls out a mobile phone (useless) so chucks itaside, he then pulls out a wallet and checks the ID. He

sighs, drops it to the floor and stands back up. He stands

for a second or two and then hears distant growls of more

creatures. He looks around and decides to leave.

CUE TITLE.

We see a montage of DON walking around deserted areas as the

titles fade in/out.

EXT. EMPTY STREET.DAY.

DONis walking along an empty road; there is little sign of

life. He spots a bird and stops to look at it. Heconcentrates on it until it flies away and then he walks on.

EXT. OUTSIDE OF HOUSE. DAY

He comes to the front of a house. He looks at it for a few

seconds and slowly approaches the door. He places his hand

on the handle and opens the door as quietly as he can. DON

opens it alittle bit and moves his head in slightly.

INT. HOUSE HALLWAY. DAY

DON

Hello?

He opens the door fully but doesnt go in.

DON

Is anybody in?

He steps in slightly.

DON

(to himself)

Apparently not.

INT. HOUSE LIVING ROOM. DAY

He is searching around the house looking for any supplies

such as food and clothing. He heads into the kitchen.

INT. HOUSE KITCHEN. DAY

He kneels down to the fridge and looks around. He puts some

of it in his bag. He opens a jar, smells the contents, loo ks

disgusted and quickly puts the lid back on and puts it back

in the fridge. He stands back up and looks around and

notices some rifle bullets on the work top. DON walks over

to the work top and picks up a bullet, studies it for a

second before shrugging his shoulders and putting it back

down. As DONwalks out of the kitchen the bullet rolls off

the work top and onto the floor. DON sees it fall but ignores

it.

INT. UNKNOWN ROOM. DAYWe see an ECU of somebodys eyes quickly opening; reacting

to the noise of the bullet dropping.

INT. BATHROOM. DAY

DON sorts his hair out in the mirror.

INT. UNKNOWN ROOM. DAY

A gun is loaded.

INT. BATHROOM.DAY.

DONdoes up his fliesand flushes the toilet. A sound of a

pump is heard.

INT. BEDROOM.DAY.

He enters the bedroom and a gun is a fired at him from

somebody on the bed. DON quickly jumps back out of the

bedroom and takes out his knife .More shots are fired and

then we hear the gun is empty.

DON

Stop shooting!

The guy on the bed stands up and checks his gun. He is

scruffy and unshaven and looks around the same age as DON.

His name is RALPH.

RALPH

You dead?

DON looks annoyed and angry.

DON

No!

He stands up and faces RALPH .

DON

What the hell are you playing at?

DONputs his knife away.

RALPH

Sorry. I thought you were one of them.

DON

Did you not hear me say stop?

RALPH

Nope.

There is a pause.

RALPH

(contd)

Sorry.

DON

(Sighs)

You hear by yourself?

RALPH

Yeah.

DON

Village looked dead to me.

RALPH

It is, apart from me...and a few of them obviously.Im RALPH

by the way.

DON

Im DON. You want your food back?

He holds out the bag of food and supplies.

RALPH

Nah, you keep it. Where you stayin anyway?

DON

Nowhere.

RALPHNowhere?

DON

I just travelfrom place to place.

RALPH

So youre not from round here?

DON

Not really.

RALPH

Look, Im gonna have some brea kfast. You want some?

DON

No thanks, Ive eaten.

RALPH

Suit yourself.

INT. KITCHEN.DAY.

DON and RALPH are standing in the kitchen. RALPH is eating

some cereal and DON is drinking a glass of water.

RALPH

Well (swallows cereal) my mum was wiped out from the start

and then my dad was...changed by one of them.

DONOh.

RALPH

(mouth full of food)

So I shot him.

DON uncomfortably sips his water.

DON

Where do you get your electric and that?

RALPH

Well the house is running on an old car battery but I... errtry to use it as little as possible because, well eventually

it will just run out, the water seems fine for now.

DON

Whats with the gun?

RALPH

Me and my dad used to hunt. This is just what we had in the

house but I got a good amount of bullets. You have any

weapons?

DON pulls the knife from his jacket.

RALPH

(laughing)

Thats it? How many have you killed with that tooth pick?

DON

Enough. Im getting it down to a talent.

DONspins the knife and motions an attack.

RALPH

Youre gonna get yourself killed using that!

DON

It does the job.

RALPH

For filing your nails maybe.

They hear a loud bang from outside.

DON

What was that?

RALPH

I dont know.

RALPHputs his bowl down, grabs his gun from the side and

check it is loaded.They slowly head towards the door and

slow down even more when they become close to it.DON opens

the door as RALPH points his gun, covering him. Nothing isthere.DON shrugs his shoulders.

DON

(whisper)

Looks clear.

There is a long pause as the s treet looks empty. A quiet

sound of the wind and birds is heard.

RALPH

Wait here.

RALPH steps out into the street.

EXT. STREET.DAY.

DON

(whisper)

RALPH! What are you doing?

RALPH ignores DONand steps into the middle of the road.D ON

looks confused. There is the quiet noise of a

growl.RALPHturns his head to the direction of the growl.

Aninfected jumps out from behind a car. RALPH looks at it.

The infected runs towards him.RALPH fires and the bullet

hits the infected straight in the middle of his forehead,causing him to fall down dead. He casually turns back to

the house.

RALPH

Let me see you do that with a knife.

He enters the house and locks the door shut.

CUT TO BLACK.

FADE INTO.

EXT. COLLEGE. DAY

DON enters the college. There are two people talk ing and

looking at a TV screen. A news report talking about a meteor

is playing. DON shakes his head, thinking it is all

nonsense.

INT. HOUSE.NIGHT.

DON and RALPH are in the living room. All lights are off,

they are using candle light. DON is sitting, rather

uncomfortably, holding his knife. RALPH is anxiously pacing

round the room. DON looks from his knife to RALPH several

times. RALPH looks out of the window. We hear a distant

growl.

RALPH

I swear that every day there is more and more of them! It

wont be long before were over run.

There is a long uncomfortable silence.

DON

Do you think there are many survivors?

RALPH

(Oblivious to DONs question)

I mean sure, I got a few bullets but th ey arent gonna last

forever.

DON

RALPH.

RALPH

And what about food? Going to get supplies will just mean

they will attack me! Every-fucking-time!

DON

RALPH!

RALPH

Sorry. (small cough) Im sorry. Its just difficult you

know?

DON

Look, why dont you travel with me. Think about it, we canlast longer together and well try and find any other

survivors.

RALPH

Yeah, yeah ok.

EXT. STRET. DAY

DON and RALPH are walking along the road. Both with a

backpack/satchel.

We see a small montage of them walking.

EXT. FIELD.DAY.

DON stops walking and so does RALPH but confused why DON has

stopped.RALPH

What you stoppin for?

DON

Look.

He points up to a bird.

RALPH

(sarcastic)

Wow.

DONIts amazing.

RALPH

Its a fucking bird.

DONignores RALPHS comment and continues to stare at the

bird. All of a sudden there is a loud bang of a gunshot.The

bird falls to the ground. We see RALPH pointing the gun. DON

looks horrified. He looks from the dead bird to the RALPH.

RALPH is pointing the gun still, smiling to himself.

RALPH

(laughs)Pretty good shot, dont you think?

DON continues to look shocked. They carry on walking and the

montage continues.

EXT. FOOTPATH.DAY.

As the montage comes to an end we see that RALPH is trailing

behind, tired.

RALPH

Can we stop?

DONYeah, sure.

They sit down and take drinks from their bag. RALPH

scratches some dirt off his gun.

RALPH

Where we headin?

DON

Wherever we go.

FADE INTO.

EXT. SPACE. DAY

(back to college day)

An unusual meteor is heading towards earth, it is green and

glowing.

INT. COLLEGE HALLWAY.DAY.

DON steps into the hallway (out from a lesson). He stops at a

vending machine and looks at what it has to offer. He takes

out his wallet from his pocket and starts to take money out.

He hears screams coming from outside and looks th e

direction.He hears the same noise but louder and runs

outside.

EXT. COLLEGE.DAY.

DON looks at the sky, confused. A meteor is heading from sky

towards earth. DON looks panicked and runs back inside.

Screams are heard. The meteor crashes to the ground.

CUT TO BLACK.

FADE INTO.

EXT. FIELD.DAY.

Shot from the POV of the meteor hole.

A passer by walks into frame. He is confused but interested

by the crash. He bends down to look, picks up some of the

rocky remains, studies it and drops it back down. He stands

up again and the area around the meteor glows. The person

gives the meteor an even stranger look. The camera zooms

into the person as we see his blood cells get infected.

CUT TO BLACK.

An infected growl is heard.

FADE INTO.

INT. COLLEGE.DAY.

DON is lying on the floor. He has blood trickling down his

head. He wakes up, gasps in pain and touches his head to

find itsbleeding. He stands up and looks around. The halls

are empty. He walks on and hears a growl. DON looks confused

and walks on. The growl becomes louder and louder until an

infected walks around the corner.

EXT. FIELD.DAY.(back in present time)

A dog barking can be heard from the distance.

DON

You hear that?

RALPH

What?

They hear the dog again.

DON

A dog.Come on!

RALPH

Ill wait here-Whats with your obsession with animals?

DONIts a dog!

RALPH

I will shoot the dog too...

DON runs off to find the dog.

EXT. ROAD. DAY

He slows down, listening out for the dog.

He turns around and sees an infected, no sign of a dog.He

looks horrified and pulls out his knife. The infectedspots

him and runs over to him. DON plunges his knife into theinfected, knocking it back. DON starts to run away but the

infected soon catches up and gets a hold of him. DON

struggles to push it back.

DON

RALPH!

DON punches the infected in the face but this does not seem

to cause much damage. RALPHappears and looks shocked. He

points, aims and shoots but misses, nearly hitting Don.

DON

Shoot it!

RALPH fires a couple more times but misses and runs out of

bullets.

DON

Shoot-it!

RALPH starts to reload, but as he is worried he dropsthe

shell. The infected reaches closer and closer to biting

DONS neck.RALPHis still struggling to reload. All of a

sudden the infected drops lifeless, blood gushing from his

head.

DON

About time.

RALPH

That wasnt me.

RALPH shows his gun is empty.

DON

Then wh..?

DONturns around and spots three people heading towards

him.RALPH spots them as well and loads his gun. As the group

gets closer we see there are two guys and one girl.One of

the guys looks over the infected and shoots it a couple more

times with his gun.He is well dressed and equipped for

survival. His name is ROBERT.

ROBERT

Whats going on?

DON

(slightly confused)

Nothing. Were fine.

ROBERT

Didnt look like fine to me.

ROBERT looks back from DON and then to RALPH.

ROBERT

Im ROBERT.

DON

Im DON and this is RALPH.

ROBERT points at the other male; VINCENT.

ROBERT

VINCENT and...

RALPH

(laughing)VINCENT? What kind of name is that?

VINCENT

I dont know, RALPH!

ROBERT

And this is ANNIE.

RALPH

(to himself)

Its like the retarded name club.

ROBERT(ignoringRALPH)

What you two doing hanging around h ere? A lot of the

infected around.

DON

Were travelling.

ROBERT

Where?

Anywhere.

ROBERT

You have no shelter?

DON

Not really.

ROBERT

Well I suggest you find some.

ANNIE

ROBERT?

ROBERT

Yeah?

ANNIELet them stay with us.

ROBERT?

No!

ANNIE

Theyll die out here!

DON

Hey, hey were fine. Okay? Weve got a gun.

VINCENT

One gun?With how much ammo? And youre friend didnt seemmuch of a John Wayne just then.

ANNIE

You always say that if there are more of us we will survive

longer.

ROBERT

It will mean fewer provisionsANNIE!

ANNIE

We are fine for supplies!

There is a pause as ROBERT considers.

ROBERT

Okay, fine. We are staying about 10 minutes away. Come on.

They all leave to the house. DON walks up to RALPH.

DON

RALPH, what happened back there ?

RALPH walks ahead. DON looks at him with a concerned look.

EXT.ROAD OUTSIDE HOUSE. DAY

ANNIE

Here we are.

ROBERT walks up to the door, unlocks it and walks in.VINCENT lets ANNIE and DONgo before him but cuts in front of

RALPH. RALPH closes the door, checking outside as he does

it.

INT.HOUSE.DAY.

They follow ROBERT into the living room.DON happily sits

down on the settee. ANNIE sits next to him. ROBERT sits on

his own chair andRALPH sits on another chair.

VINCENT

RALPH!

RALPHYeah?

VINCENT

Thats my chair.

RALPH

What?

VINCENT

I said. That is my chair.

RALPH

Well...Im sitting here...

VINCENT

Move.

RALPH

Excuse me?

VINCENT

Huh. I think you heard.

RALPH

What is your problem?

VINCENT

You. Get out of my chair.

RALPH stands.

RALPH

What you gonna do?

VINCENT throws a punch at RALPH. RALPH blocks the punch and

throws one back. VINCENT grabs his hand and spins him to the

ground. He heads over to RALPH to fight some more.DON and

ANNIE stand up.

ANNIE

Stop it.

They stop.

ANNIE

(contd)

What do you think youre doing? We arent going to survive

if we keep fighting each other.

VINCENT takes his seat. RALPH stands.

DON

So what do you lot...do?

ROBERT

Hunt. The less of them means we will have a higher chance of

surviving.

DON

Where did you get the gun from?

RALPH is checking out of the window.

ROBERT

We took them from a dead hunting squadron. Before that we

were pretty much hunting with kitchen cutlery.

ROBERT notices RALPH looking out of the window.

ROBERT

Keep away from the window .

RALPHignores him.

ROBERT

I said keep away from the window!

DON walks over to RALPH.

DONRALPH. You alright mate?

RALPH looks to DON.

RALPH

(shakes his head)

Yeah. Im fine.

DON looks out of the window to see if R ALPH was looking at

anything. The street is empty. He turns his head to RALPH

who is still acting weird and looks concerned. We see that

ROBERT also notices this and looks from RALPH to VINCENT. DON

sits back down.

DON

Do you know anything about what actually happened?

ROBERT

You mean the pandemic?

DON

Yeah.

ROBERT

The meteor. It spread a virus. Im guessing it wiped out a

large number of the worlds population. Some survived like

us and some...

ROBERT pauses.

ROBERT

Half survived like them.

DON

I see.How come we survived?

ROBERT

Im not sure.

ANNIE

You notice that there a no old people. Its all teenagers.

DON

Yeah. Youre right.

ROBERT

Im guessing its to do with the stage of the human bodys

immune system. Ours must have been in the exact right phase

to be impervious to the disease.

DON

Thats a good theory.

ROBERT smiles.

DON

So apart from...hunting...what else do you do?

ROBERT

Well we have generator running in the garage but we use that

as little as possible but luckily we came across an

excellent amount of drink.

DON

VINCENT

Thats right my friend.

ANNIE

So, if there is no infected killing needed...

VINCENT

We get absolutely munch bunched!

RALPH

Well, getting drunk is better than what I did for fun?

DON

Why? What did you do?

RALPH

Made card towers out of chocolate digestives.

ANNIE and DON laugh.

FADE IN.

INT. BATHROOM.DAY.

RALPH is asleep in the bath.

INT. LIVING ROOM DAY.

DON, VINCENT, ANNIE, and ROBERT are talking.

ANNIE

What? Thats crazy!

ROBERTIt will work if we all put our minds to it!

RALPH walks in, eating.

RALPH

Whats that?

VINCENT

Are you eating all the fucking food?

DON

ROBERT wants to capture one of the infected. Bring it in and

study it.

ANNIE

Which I think is the stupidest idea Ive ever heard.

ROBERT

Its just....I have another theory !

DON

What?

ROBERT

Look, we are fine for the moment. Our immune system is

secluded from the virus.

DON

So what do we have to worry about?

ROBERT

As our immune system develops the virus could easily affect

us too.

DON

So capturing one of the infected and bringing it in here

will fix that?

ROBERT

I believe that within their cells and ours is the answer.

VINCENT

I know youre intellectual and everything but you cant curecancer.

ROBERT

This isnt cancer.

DON

Well, it may as well be.

ANNIE

We could all get killed out there. It doesnt seem worth it.

ROBERT

So you want to slowly get infected and die?

ANNIE

No.

ROBERT

Well, we need to hunt one of the infected.

ANNIE

ROBERT, its...

ROBERT

Are you scared?

ANNIE

So what if I am? I dont like going out there unless we

really need to.

ROBERT

You know there is no room for the pathetic and the weak in

this team. So unless you pull yourself together Ill...

ANNIE

Youll what ROBERT? Kill me?

ROBERT is thrown back by ANNIEs reply.

ROBERT

If it means.

ROBERT pauses.

ROBERT

If it means that youre slowing the team down. Yes.

ANNIE takes a gunfrom the side and hands it to ROBERT.

ANNIE

Go on then. If youll go to that extent.

ROBERTlowers the gun.DON takes the gun.

DONGive me that. Now, everybody calm down.

ANNIE slaps ROBERT and walks out.

RALPH

Dont get on the wrong side of her.

DON, VINCENT and ROBERT give RALPH an evil glare.

RALPH

What?

INT. ROBERTS ROOM.NIGHT.ROBERT is lying in bed. We see he is looking at a photo of

him and what we assume is his girlfriend, before the

pandemic. They look happy.

INT. VINCENTS ROOM. NIGHT

He is doing push ups. He hears somebody murmuring and stops,

confused. He grabs a bat nearby and walks out of the room.

INT. ROBERTs ROOM.NIGHT.

VINCENT gently knocks on the door and lets himself in.

ROBERT looks sad but when he sees V INCENT, he hides the

picture.

ROBERT

What?

VINCENT

Come with me.

ROBERT

Why?

INT. RALPHS ROOM.NIGHT.

RALPH is sitting almost perfectly still, talking to himself.

ROBERT looks at VINCENT , they both have a sinister look on

their face.

INT. LIVING ROOM. DAY

(MORNING AFTER)

RALPH walks in, just doing up his shirt. Looking out ofplace. DON and ANNIE are already dressed; DON is drinking

from a mug.

DON

Sleep well?

RALPH doesnt hear and starts to bite his nails.

DON

RALPH?

RALPH

What?

DON

You alright?

RALPH

Yeah.

He walks out of the room.

ANNIE

Whats wrong with him?

DONI think hes losing it.

ANNIE

Well, Im worried. If ROBERT sees him like that hell kill

him and to be honest, I think VICNENT would be more than

happy to help.

DON

(whisper)

Well what are we supposed to do? We cant get him

counselling. Any doctor in fixing stuff like that for people

is dead!

ANNIE

Oh you think?

INT. KITCHEN. DAY

VINCENT and ROBERT are in the kitchen, Annie gets herself a

glass of water and starts to leave.

ROBERT

ANNIE, wheres RALPH?

VINCENT looks to ROBERT.

ANNIE

Um, I dont know. Why?

ROBERT

Never mind.

ANNIE

Okay.

She looks at ROBERT perplexed.

EXT. HOUSE.DAY.

RALPH is standing at the front of the house, very still. DON

comes out of the house and looks at RALPH

DONRALPH.

RALPH says nothing and stays still.

DON

(contd)

RALPH, are you okay?

RALPH

How much longer?

DON

What?

RALPH

(turns head to DON)

How much longer are we going to last out here D ON?

RALPH turns his head back, looking forward once again.

DON

RALPHlisten to me!

RALPHcontinues to stare forward.

INT. KITCHEN. DAYVINCENT and ROBERT are talking about killing off RALPH.

ANNIE is outside the room, listening.

ROBERT

When?

VINCENT

When what?

ROBERT

We need to get rid of him, hes slowing us all down. He is a

pathetic excuse for a survivor!

VINCENT

Whoa ROBERT, arent you getting a little carried away with

this team thing?

ROBERT

Of course not, you agree with me, right?

VINCENT

Yes but...

ROBERT

Youre gonna help me take him out if you like it or not!

VINCENT

When?

ROBERTTonight.

EXT. HOUSE.DAY.

DON

If you dont pull yourself together theyll.

DON pauses.

DON

VINCENT and ROBERT are gonna kill you. You saw ROBERTwhen

ANNIE backed down. He wont think twice about doing the same

to you.

ANNIE walks out.

ANNIE

DON, can I talk to you please?

INT. HOUSE HALLWAY. DAY

ANNIE

I heard them talking.

DON

What?

ANNIE

Theyre gonna kill RALPH tonight.

DON

Tonight?!

ANNIE

Dont say anything. You wont be able to stop them both.

DON

Well we cant just...

VINCENT comes from the living room.

VINCENTWhat you two doing?

DON

Nothing.

VINCENT

Well get your things together. We goin hunting boy!

He laughs. DON and ANNIE give each other a concerned look.

CUT TO.

A montage of them packing guns and equipment ready to hunt.

EXT. FIELD DAY.

They are all spread apart and silent . As they reach a corner

they hear a noise.

ROBERT

(whisper)

Wait here.

ROBERT checks his gun is loaded and approaches the corner.

He slowly pokes his head round and sees one of the infected.

He turns back to the rest of the team.

ROBERTThere is one round there. Dont kill it! Understand?

VINCENT

What do we do?

ROBERT

Go for the legs or the arms.

They all turn round the corner and the infected notices

them.He runs towards the team and they raise their weapons.

ROBERT

Remember, just injure it!

VINCENT stands forward and begins to attack the infected

with his bat but the infected pushes him back.

ROBERT

Move Im gonna shoot it in the leg.

They all back away and ROBERT shoot it in the leg, it

screams. They all move forward to fight some more.

ROBERT

Stay back, thats enough.

The infectedlies on the ground in pain.VINCENTslowly moves

forward towards the infected and taps it with his bat. The

infected jumps out and tries to bite VINCENT. VINCENT tries

pushing it off.

VINCENT

Get it off me!

We hear a gun shot and see that RALPH has shot the infected.

There is a few seconds of silence as VINCENTclimbs out from

underneath the corpse.

ROBERT

You

ROBERT punches RALPH. ROBERT goes in for another punch but

DON stops him.

DON

Look, well capture another one! What is wrong with you?

ANNIE pushes ROBERT away.

ANNIE

Lets get back before it gets dark.

They all head back to the house.

INT. HOUSE LIVING ROOM.DAY.

They are all sitting, not saying anything to each other andcompletely silent.Ralph starts to look irritated about

something.

RALPH

Excuse me a minute.

DON

Okay.

He gets up and leaves.

DON

Okay, look

ROBERT

I dont need anything from you right now.

ROBERT gets up and leaves too. VINCENT follows.

INT. BATHROOM.DAY.

RALPH is staring at himself in the mirror. He gently touches

his own face and runs his hand down it. Then there is a loud

bang on the door and RALPH spins his head to look. He wipes

his nose with his hand, sniffing.

RALPH

Who is it?

ROBERT

What are you doing in there?

RALPH

Nothing. Leave me alone please.

ROBERT tries opening the door.

ROBERT

Open this door.

RALPH slowly opens the door. ROBERT punches him in the face

knocking him back into the bathroom. RALPH unsuccessfully

tries to fight back. ROBERTtakes out his gun and cocks it.

VINCENT comes in.

ROBERT

Hold him still.

VINCENT holds RALPH still. ROBERT shoots RALPH.

INT. LIVING ROOM.DAY.

DON and ANNIE hear the gunshot.

DON

Theyre all upstairs.

DON grabs a gun and him and ANNIE run upstairs to thebathroom.

INT. UPSTAIRS HALL WAY. DAY.

DON and ANNIE see RALPHs corpse.

DON

What have you done?

ROBERT

DON points the gun to VINCENT.

DON

ROBERT

You wouldnt dare.

There is a moment of silence.

DON starts to aim his gun but VINCENT jumps on him and takes

it.

ANNIE

Everybody calm down!

Moment of silence.

ROBERT

I killed him. Okay? Maybe it was a bit over the top but he

was losing it and obviously couldnt take the pain, I puthim out of his misery.

DON

He isnt a sick dog!

There is another moment of silence.

ROBERT

I need to work out the cure to save the rest of us and any

other survivors, and I need your help. Okay?

DON

Okay.

ANNIE

What?

DON

Whats wrong?

ANNIE

He gives a crappy little speech and now weve forgivi ng him?

There is a fresh dead body only feet away.

DON

Tomorrow, well go out on the hunt for another one of them.

Well capture it, and Ill study it.

ANNIE

What if it doesnt work? What if you capture it, study it

and then find that there is absolutely nothing to do to cure

it.

EXT. ROAD.DAY.

They are all walking, all looking tired apart for R OBERT who

is determined to find one of the infected and study it.

ROBERT

Come on! Keep up!

DON

Were tired. Lets just stop for a minute.

ROBERT

No.

DON

Its not like weve gotta rush.

ROBERT

Yes we do, before it gets dark!

ROBERT continues.

VINCENT

(to DON)

DON, Im sorry.

DON

Its okay.

DON starts to carry on.

VINCENT

DON, really. Im so sorry. I didnt...I mean...

ROBERT

Did I say stop?

They start to carry on walking but suddenly one of the

infected jumps out and grabs ANNIE. ROBERT runs back. DONtries to pull it off but no luck. VINCENT grabs it and pulls

it back. He pulls out his gun.

ROBERT

Dont shoot it!

VINCENT shoots the infected.

ROBERT

ROBERT

VINCENT

You cant just kill anybody you like!

ROBERT

VINCENT. Youre the last person I thought would be like

this.

VINCENT

Youre not gonna find a cure Robert. Your impossible target

is just to stop your own insanity getting to you, to keep

you occupied! Nobody can be cured! And youre just

slaughtering anybody you wish? And what for?Some personal

vendetta.

ROBERT

I trusted you.

ROBERT shoots VINCENT.

ANNIENo!

DON pointshis gun up at ROBERT.

ROBERT

So is that how it is?

DON

You twisted bastard!

DON moves his gun closer to ROBERT.

ROBERTSo what? All of you knew that when you join me you cant be

weak?

DON

You think youre stronger? Youre as weak as any of us.

ANNIE, come on lets go.

ROBERT

Where are you going?

If you think youre better than all us then you catch your

damn infected creature by yourself! ANNIE, were leaving.

ROBERTturns back, lifts his gun-pointing it at DONs back.

ANNIEDON!

She pushes his arm to the side causing the bullet to hit the

ground. She then elbows him in the face and he falls back.

DON spins back round. ROBERT is now on the ground.

DON

Lets go.

He grabs ANNIES hand and they run off. ROBERT shoots at

them.

CUT TO.EXT. DUSTY ROAD. DAY

DON and ANNIE are running, b ullets hit the trees, skimming

them. ROBERT is chasing them, with aggression in his face.

EXT. DEAD END ROAD.DAY

DON and ANNIE come to a dead end .

DON

No!

They hear ROBERTs gun fire in the distance.

DON(whisper)

Get down.

They hide. DON checks his gun is loaded.

ANNIE

DON?

They exchange glances.

DON

Trust me.

DONjumps out and fires his gun in ROBERTS direction.

ROBERTturns and shoots bullets back in DONS and ANNIEs

direction. We hear his gun click as it empties. DON has

jumped to the ground.

DON

ANNIE lets move out of here while hes reloading.

DON checks his gun.

DON

ANNIE! Lets go.

He turns back and sees ANNIE is lying on the ground with

several marks of blood on here where bullets have hit.

DON

No! Shit. Shit!

DON holds on to ANNIEs hand and looks down to her lifeless

body. ROBERT walks over and looks down to the both of them.

He grabs DON by the collar and drags him off. We see that

DONs hand is pulled from ANNIEs. Anger fillsDONS face as

he is being dragged. He pulls himself up and punches R OBERT.

A fight scene commences ending with ROBERT pointing a gun at

DON, DON cowers in fear as ROBERT prepares to shoot him.

There is a moment of silence. A gun s hot is heard. ROBERT

falls to the ground. DON opens his eyes, confused.

DON slowly uncovers his face and looks to see what has

happened. He sees ROBERT lying on the floor and looks into

the distance and sees a group of rebels /military men. One

lowering his gun.

Cut to black.
