The market capitalization of the 194 listed equities increased by 0.70 percent to close at N14.028 trillion from N13.930 trillion recorded in the previous trading day. The All-Share Index of the NSE also increased by 0.70 percent to close at 42,482.49 from 42,187.62 on Friday. Profit after tax was N6.43 billion from N2.90 billion the previous year. Revenue rose to N77.89 billion from 64.09 billion, the company said in a filing with the Nigerian Stock Exchange. NPF Microfinance Bank pays N228.7m dividend The NPF Microfinance Bank Plc has commenced the payment of N228.7m dividend to its shareholders for the 2013 financial year. The dividend, which represents 10 kobo per share, was approved at the bank’s annual general meeting in Lagos. In approving the dividend payment, the shareholders commended the bank for its performance in the year under review. They, however, urged the management to intensify efforts to better the returns in the future. At the AGM, the outgoing Chairman, NPF Microfinance Bank, Mrs. Florence Adebanjo, urged the shareholders to continue to give the institution full support, adding that her exit would not affect it negatively. This, she explained, was because the management had a strong succession plan and the growth being witnessed in the institution was sustainable. U.S. Stocks Fluctuate Amid Quarterly Rally on Home Sales U.S. stocks fluctuated near record levels, with the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index heading for the longest stretch of quarterly gains since 1998, as a jump in pending home sales offset weaker-than-forecast manufacturing data. The S&P 500 added less than 0.1 percent to 1,961.18 at 11:20 a.m. in New York. The equity benchmark gauge is up 4.7 percent this quarter, a sixth consecutive advance. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 20.44 points, or 0.1 percent, to 16,831.40 today. The market capitalization of the 194 listed equities increased by 0.70 percent to close at N14.028 trillion from N13.930 trillion recorded in the previous trading day. The All-Share Index of the NSE also increased by 0.70 percent to close at 42,482.49 from 42,187.62 on Friday.

Market Update

SevenUp Bottling Company posts N7.62 billion pretax profit

SevenUp Bottling Company said, on Monday, its pretax profit in the year to March 31

rose to N7.62 billion ($46.8 million), up 133 percent on the previous year. Profit after

tax was N6.43 billion from N2.90 billion the previous year. Revenue rose to N77.89

billion from 64.09 billion, the company said in a filing with the Nigerian Stock

Exchange.

NPF Microfinance Bank pays N228.7m dividend

The NPF Microfinance Bank Plc has commenced the payment of N228.7m dividend to

its shareholders for the 2013 financial year. The dividend, which represents 10 kobo per

share, was approved at the bank’s annual general meeting in Lagos. In approving the

dividend payment, the shareholders commended the bank for its performance in the year

under review. They, however, urged the management to intensify efforts to better the
