Just Built Better! For more than 17 years, Palmer has led the industry in the evolution of snow-board design and introduced the Smart FLF Rocker to the ski industry. Althoughmore expensive than others – we build the most durable and warranty-freeproducts on the market … guaranteed quality built in Europe! Check outour Tech-Icons on each board to learn what’s inside!

Think Smart and progress: the pros and cons of the latestin snowboard technology.

Camber or Rocker?Camber now comes in all shapes and sizes, from full rocker to regular camberand different variations in between. Each design has unique performance advan-tages targeted to a specific riding style. There are various rocker designs but ingeneral the larger the distance off the snow, the more soft snow focused a boardbecomes. Or, in other words, the more Rocker the less performance!

So which shape is right for you? Camber or Rocker? How much Rocker? Howmuch Camber? Confused?

Rocker Advantages:In a rockered board design, the negative camber lifts tip and tail off the snow tomake it easier to rotate the ski/board from left to right without the tip and tailcatching on the surface of the snow. This Catch-Free character makes the boardless aggressive, more forgiving, easier and effortless to control. The Rocker alsoenables the board to float effortlessly on top of softer snow due to the negativecamber naturally wanting to float. While going straight (sitting flat), the widestpart of tip and tail are out of the snow for a more stable straight riding. And whilejibbing allows for a loose, forgiving, catch-free feel.

Camber Advantages:The regular tip-to-tail Camber gives the board full edge contact for dynamic turninitiation, speed during the turn and powerful out-of-turn acceleration (rebounds)for maximal forward energy. Accuracy, stability and ice biting edge hold especiallyon hard snow conditions and crud. Provides that stable, secure, in control feel. And Camber takes away the fear of “Rocker Washouts”. Feel the added pop inollies and nollies, load it up and feel it kick back, slash with power in pow, stomplandings on the tail.

Page 5: Palmer 2012 English

Smart FLF RockerAnother first from Palmer is the Smart FLF Rockerdesign that makes you Feel Like Flying. A patentpending design innovation with moving edge pressuredefining contact points to combine the proven perform-ance of Regular Camber and the Catch-Free ease ofRocker. Experience more control and easier turn initia-tion and the confidence and stability to rip any terrain.

Remarkably effortless! Forgiving and easy-to-controlwith playful, lively yet dynamic turning performance.Catch-free ease with great pop, kick back and landinglock. Builds your confidence and helps you to becomea better rider.

Why Smart Rocker?Smart because the Palmer FLF Rocker technologycombines the advantages of the proven performance ofRegular Camber and the Catch-Free ease of Rocker.Catch-Free ease without the fear of “RockerWashouts”!

Smart engineering:What’s smart and unique with the FLF Rocker is itsRocker in tip and tail in combination with a regulartip-to-tail Camber allowing the edge pressure definingcontact points to move along the edges during a turn:From Camber to Rocker to Camber!

Smart experience:Enjoy the confidence, effortless and worry-free ridingof Smart FLF Rocker that Feels Like Flying. Ease andversatility, catch-free, dynamic turns, increased flota-tion with no compromise on performance and speed inany condition or any ability level.

Experience confident riding that Feels Like Flying.

Full Camber performance at the beginning of aturn due to active tip and tail contact with thesnow allowing full edge contact for direct, dynamic turn initiations.

Full Catch-Free ease after turn initiation becauseof the moving contact points moving in while tipand tail go up releasing tip and tail pressure toprevent tip and tail to get pushed into the snow.Experience effortless, catch free and easy to con-trol turning with higher turn navigation precision, maximum edge grip and stability at any momentof the turn with higher turn speeds due to thereduced turn breaking forces. And while jibbingpresses well and allows for a loose, forgiving,catch-free feel.

Full Camber performance at the end of the turnbecause the contact points move back out whiletip and tail go down to actively contact the snow.Again full tip-to-tail edge contact for powerful outof turn acceleration and maximum forward energyand speed.Feel the added pop in ollies and nol-lies, load it up and feel it kick back, slash withpower in pow, stomp landings on the tail.Increased versatility in crud and hardpack andfloats effortlessly on top of softer snow due to thenegative camber naturally wanting to float. Whilegoing straight (sitting flat), the widest part of tipand tail are out of the snow for a more stablestraight riding.

Check out the FLF Rocker principle in action. See why the FLF Rocker Technology puts you in control of a ride that never felt easier.

Honeycomb – Simply Does it All!Recognized for years, Palmer's Honeycomb “simply does it all with a design that floatseasily, rides fast, and turns like it can read your mind. The Honeycomb felt stable atspeeds that cause other boards to get shaky. ‘Carving feels effortless and faster,’ saidone tester. There's also an increase in stability through the turn. And coming out of theturn, this monster accelerates even more.” Outside Magazine

BurnPioneering the use of honeycomb in almost all of its boards, Palmer puts the light-weight material in the nose and tail for enhanced performance. Results: Turn initiationand exit are smoother and more predictable with the main portion of a turn being tightand responsive. In fact, turning and edging were the Burn’s highpoints with testers.“Solid” and “edges well” were all over the comment cards. “For board constructionand high-end details, Palmer is at the front of the pack”. Transworld Snowboarding

Flash Twin“Steady as a heartbeat, it was a solid board that held its line and was really fun to ride. The Flash shined during higher speed freeriding, situations where its extra stiffnessaided in stability. Also notable was its edge control in the pipe, perfect for blastinglofty airs and easing into smooth landings.” SierraSnowboard.com

Page 7: Palmer 2012 English

Liberty – Liberating“GIVE ME LIBERTY, or give me death!” one tester exclaimed after banking 6000 vert onPalmer's women-specific all-mountain freestyle offering. Enhanced by a Nomex Honeycombcore (made of impregnated aramid fiber, 10 times lighter than wood) at the tip and tail, theLiberty is quick on the draw. “You'd think it'd be a bad idea to take a playful, butter-liciousboard into some steep, hairy chute, but it was really Liberating,” another tester said.Backcountry Magazine

Jade Twin“The Palmer Jade is the epitome of park confidence, and it was great fun to ride. I found itplayful and flexible, and it just wanted to bounce around the mountain. I think it’s a boardfor girls who are just discovering the park as it was easy to turn into switch andI was confidently in control when lining up to jumps.” Snowboard-Review.com

Power Link System (PLS)Simply put, the PLS is power steering forsnowboards. The perfect upgrade for any board.

The PLS is all about leverage. The PLS enablesyou to transfer more body power to your edgesfor better grip, improved control, and quicker boardresponse.

The PLS also eliminates the dead spot that abinding creates on the board, allowing the board toflex the way it should. The PLS makes heel-sideturns feel like toe-side turns and toe-side turns feelbetter with less effort. Less effort meansriders stay on the mountain longer.

Energize your ride. The PLS come in 2 models for different riding stylesand is not gender specific:

PLS ShockOur highest end plate, the PLS Shock is the mack-daddy of the plates. With 13mm of lift, this dualdurometer plate has harder plasticon the outside pushing power to the edge and softerplastic on the inside that cushions the foot anddampens vibration. Silver only.

PLS FlexThe PLS Flex is the best-selling plate in the line. With 10mm of lift, this softer freestyle model goeswith any board on your wall.

Sports Car performance with the Cadillac ride! When the original honeycomb was builtin 1997, there was nothing else like it. And now with the new Smart FLF Rocker, it’sthe lightest high performance board on the market. Why pay more for anything less?

4400 ISOSPEEDScreen printed or ultrasonically cut inlaid bases with stoneground finish for high speed, easy repairs, and maximum waxabsorption. Fast, tough and fixable.

7200 HIGH SPEED BASESThe inlaid 7200 graphite bases have computer-controlledstone ground or structured finishes and are super fast.

CAP-SIDEWALLCap-sidewall sandwich construction is the most expensive toproduce but combines the advantages of both sidewall andcap construction to distribute maximum power to the edges.ID-2000 sidewalls overlap the steel edges completely andguarantee maximum durability, precise edge grip andvibration dampening.

CARBONCarbon fiber strips give a board additional liveliness, andmore pop, strength and edge grip. We place carbon fiber inspecial configurations to modify the board’s longitudinal flex, torsional stiffness, and to improve power distribution fromthe bindings to the edges of the board.

FLF SHAPEFLF (Feels Like Flying) is the optimized interaction betweenthe sidecut and the nose and tail surfaces. Klothoid repre-sents the numerous radii (circles) that define the sidecut, and FLF extends these radii into the nose and tail kick. Inpractical terms this means more control and effortlesshandling, thanks to an optimized edge grip. FLF pushesedge-hold, stability and acceleration to a new standardof handling and safety.

HONEYCOMBNomex™ Honeycomb core made of impregnated aramid fiberis ten times lighter than wood and has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Because Nomex™ is not affected by mois-ture, corrosion does not occur like it does with cores madeof aluminum or paper. Our Honeycomb is filled with 99% air.

HRC-48 EDGESSteel edges for a powerful and long lasting edge grip.

KLOTHOID SIDECUTKlothoid technology allows Palmer engineers to control thecentrifugal forces riders experience as they turn. This unique multi-radii shape technology allows us to blendtogether as many different sidecut radii as neededto achieve an even easier, more forgiving and effortless boardthat delivers the highest riding performance ever.

PREPREG/NCF (NON-CRIMP-FABRIC) PREPREGPrepreg adds the perfect amount of glue exactly where it isneeded and not a drop more. It ensures durability, long life, and consistency in flex and ride. Where other manufacturersuse wet lamination to save money, Palmer maintains its com-mitment to quality by using prepreg in all boards. Prepregallows us to deliver a finer product, helps maintain a saferworkplace for our employees and minimizes our impact onthe environment.

WOODCORESVertically laminated beech/poplar or Okume woodcores for highstrength, low weight, and optimal flexural properties. Tailored toeach board’s exact specs. Every model has its own specialwoodcore – different in wood type, shape, and composition.

POWER LINK SYSTEM (PLS)PLS increases leverage over the edges and makes ridingeasier – a recommended upgrade for any board.

SIDEWALLFull sidewall that’s easy to fix.

TITANIUMTitanium offers the unique racing features of high power, dynamic rebound, incredible stability, and excellentdampening.

TRI-RADIAL SIDECUTThree radii are blended together for smooth turn initiation, stable ride on edge, and quick, powerful exit snapinto the next turn.

TWINTIPA snowboard or ski shape where the nose and tail are identi-cally shaped and designed to be ridden forward and back-wards. Most commonly used in freestyle riding.

Think Smart and Progress: the pros and cons of thelatest in ski technology.

Camber or Rocker?Camber now comes in all shapes and sizes, from full rocker to regular camberand different variations in between. Each design has unique performanceadvantages targeted to a specific riding style. There are various rocker designsbut in general the larger the distance off the snow, the more soft snow focuseda ski becomes. Or in other words the more Rocker the less performance onharder snow conditions.

So which shape is right for you? Camber or Rocker? How much Rocker? How much Camber? Confused?

Rocker Advantages:In a rockered ski design, the negative camber lifts tip and tail off the snowto make it easier to rotate the ski from left to right without the tip and tailcatching on the surface of the snow. This Catch-Free character makes the skiless aggressive, more forgiving, easier and effortless to control. The Rocker alsoenables the ski to float effortlessly on top of softer snow due to the negativecamber naturally wanting to float. While going straight (sitting flat), the widestpart of tip and tail are out of the snow for a more stable straight riding. Andwhile jibbing allows for a loose, forgiving, catch-free feel.

Camber Advantages:The regular tip-to-tail Camber gives the ski full edge contact for dynamic turninitiation, speed during the turn and powerful out-of-turn acceleration (rebounds)for maximal forward energy. Accuracy, stability and ice biting edge hold especiallyon hard snow conditions and crud. Provides that stable, secure, in control feel. And Camber takes away the fear of “Rocker Washouts”. Feel the added pop inollies and nollies, load it up and feel it kick back, slash with power in pow, stomp landings on the tail.

Page 37: Palmer 2012 English

Smart FLF RockerAnother first from Palmer is the Smart FLF Rockerdesign that makes you Feel Like Flying. A patentpending design innovation with moving edge pressuredefining contact points to combine the proven perform-ance features of Regular Camber and the Catch-Freeease of Rocker. Experience dynamic turn initiation, easy, effortless control, and powerful out-of-turnacceleration and speed.

Remarkably effortless! Forgiving and easy-to-controlwith lively, dynamic turning performance. Energysaving and knee friendly for a safer, less tiring and amore fun skiing experience. Builds your confidenceand helps you to become a better skier.

Why Smart Rocker?Smart because the Palmer FLF Rocker technologycombines the advantages of the proven performance ofRegular Camber and the Catch-Free ease of Rocker.

Smart engineering:What’s smart and unique with the FLF Rocker is itsRocker in tip and tail in combination with a regulartip-to-tail Camber allowing the edge pressure definingcontact points to move along the edges during a turn:From Camber to Rocker to Camber!

Smart experience:Enjoy the confidence, effortless and worry-free ridingof the Smart FLF Rocker that Feels Like Flying. Easeand versatility, catch-free, dynamic turns with no com-promise on performance and speed in any condition orany ability level.

The skier not only expends less energy controlling andnavigating a turn, but at the same time experiencesless fatigue in his body and less pressure points in hisknees. And while taking it easy, the Smart FLF Rockerreduces the risk of catching an edge and let’s youcarve at lower speeds.

Full Camber performance at the end of the turnbecause the contact points move back out whiletip and tail go down to actively contact the snow.Again full tip-to-tail edge contact for powerful outof turn acceleration and maximum forward energyand speed.

Check out the FLF Rocker principle in action. See why the FLF Rocker Technology puts you in control of a ride that never felt easier.

REVIEWS

“I skied the P01 both in the powder (where theypleasantly surprised me) and on the groomed(where they seemed to be truly at home). Thisis a high performing, damp, all mountain skiwith great edge grip which can be turnedquickly. I think these skis are seriouscontenders for a great all around ski.”ExoticSkis.com

“The P03 ski is more precise and carve-capable,and is probably easier to ski all day than manyother twintips. The famous Palmer sidecutdesign seems to allow this ski to make greatturns at various speeds, extending its range ofcapabilities outside the park andpipe to allkinds of terrain on the mountain. Very funand sporty.” ExoticSkis.com

“The P04 would be a great ski without the trickgeometry, but the mini-rocker makes it easierand more forgiving than any ski that’s capableof similar performance.” Powder
