The annual Chrism Mass for the Archdiocese of Los An-geles will take place on Monday, April 15 at 7:00 PM, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Everyone is in-vited to attend. At the Chrism Mass, Archbishop Gomez will consecrate the Holy Chrism and bless the Oil of the Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick, which will then be distributed throughout the Archdiocese.

TREE OF LIFE UPDATE The following families have paid their Capital Campaign pledges in full; The Alas Family Antonio & Cecilia Marquez Barsana Family Mrs. Florence Scott Their leaves will be placed on the Tree of Life. THANK YOU FOR HELPING US REACH OUR GOAL!!!!

With Easter only two weeks away, it is time to ask for your help with the Easter Flower Offering. We are able to decorate our church so beauti-

fully because of your generous donations. If you are able to help us this year, please take one of the envelopes in the pews today, fill it out and drop it in the collection bas-ket. You may also bring it in to the parish office during regular business hours. The Easter Flower offering is an opportunity to remember a loved one in a special way during the Easter Season. Donations help defray the cost of decorating our beautiful church throughout the season. Thank you for your generosity.

EASTER FLOWERS IN MEMORY OF A LOVED ONE

If you have not turned in your Lenten of-fering box, you may turn it in to the parish office, or drop them in the Sunday collec-tion. All of the money collected, will be donated to the Philippine Disciples of Mary. Thank you for your generosity.

NO GREATER LOVE LENTEN OFFERING BOX

The Lord GOD is my help, therefore I am not disgraced. — Isaiah 50:7a

El Señor me ayuda, por eso no quedaré confundido.

— Isaías 50:7a

THE STORY OF OUR REDEMPTION We begin the final week of Lent with these fa-miliar readings. This year, we hear the Passion from the Gospel of Luke. These readings for Palm Sunday and the Passion used to be read on successive Sundays. Now they are combined into a single feast, so that we may see the whole sweep of the glory and the suffering played out. Jesus accepts the adulation of the crowd, the foreshadow-ing of his glory in the Resurrection. He bids farewell to his disciples in his last Passover, and forgives his tormen-tors as he dies on the cross. Later this week, we enter the Holy Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, when the whole story of our redemption will play out once again.

A Pro Life Rosary for the Unborn Every Tuesday at 6:30 pm inside

church before mass Many lives depend on us advocating for them! Attn: Spiritual Parents/Brothers & Sisters!!

Please continue to pray! The babies are counting on us! ~ Remember to pray daily for your spiritually adopted child and his/her parents. During your earthly life, this spiritually adopted child of yours is known only to God, but in the world to come, it is hoped that you will meet this child whose life was spared by your prayers and spend eternal happiness with him/her. 7 Months—You’re in the home stretch with your spiritually adopted baby. Your baby is completely formed and has been since 8 weeks. All they are doing now is gaining weight – and making their mother uncomfortable with their size but she’s not worried now because in a short time, her baby will be born. She has planned to bring him/her home or place him/her for adoption but either way, she knows she can receive the assistance she needs from people like you and from the crisis pregnancy centers. Your baby’s mother appreciates the prayers you have said for her and her baby throughout the pregnancy. It hasn’t been easy, but your prayers have given her grace to seek the help she needs.

Just as any anticipated birth, we would like to shower these babies and their moms with love and gifts. During the month of April, which we have dubbed April Showers, we will be collecting new and gently used baby items and will celebrate a Mother's Day Baby Shower. There will be a crib on either side of the church during the entire month of April for dona-tions to be dropped off. We hope to fill a U-Haul with dona-tions and bless the moms and their newborns for whom we have been praying for.

SAFEGUARD THE CHILDREN

DID YOU KNOW Use creative problem solving to find new ways to protect children In the Protecting God’s Children program, adults learn how to identify potential signs of abuse and how to pick up on red flag

behaviors that indicate a potential predator, even before abuse happens. Another tool in the arsenal of child protection is crea-tive problem solving, where adults learn to think outside the box when it comes to finding solutions for protecting children. One very effective creative problem-solving tool is to refocus the group’s thinking, turning it away from the perceived “problem” and productively more toward a collaborative solu-tion. Consider the challenge of how to deal with registered sex offenders whose children attend the school or participate in religious education at the parish. Rather than discuss the topic, the leader might ask participants to finish the following sen-tences, “Wouldn’t it be awful if…” and “Wouldn’t it be won-derful if…” Once everyone has provided responses, the group can look through the answers to find connecting themes that may provide a previously untried solution.

CELEBRACIÓN DEL LA DIVINA MISERICORDIA The Chaplet of Divine Mercy: The Chaplet given to St. Faustina with this promise: “Encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given you” (Diary, no. 1541). “Whoever will recite it will re-ceive great mercy at the hour of death. … Even if there were a sin-ner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infi-nite mercy. I desire that the whole world know My infinite

mercy” (Diary, no. 687). HOW TO PRAY THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY Use a rosary as a prayer tool. 1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross, 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and

The Apostles Creed. 2. 2. Then on the Our Father beads say the following: Eternal Fa-

ther, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

3. On the 10 Hail Mary beads say the following: For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (Repeat step 2 and 3 for all five decades).

4. 4. Conclude with (three times): Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

The Divine Mercy Novena: Jesus gave St. Faustina nine intentions for which to pray the Chaplet beginning on Good Friday and ending on Holy Saturday. He gave St. Faustina an intention to pray for on each day of the Novena, saving for the last day the most difficult inten-tion of all, the lukewarm and indifferent of whom He said: "These souls cause Me more suffering than any others; it was from such souls that My soul felt the most revulsion in the Garden of Olives. It was on their account that I said: 'My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass Me by.' The last hope of salvation for them is to flee to My Mercy." In her diary, St. Faustina wrote that Jesus told her: "On each day of the novena you will bring to My heart a different group of souls and you will immerse them in this ocean of My mercy ... On each day you will beg My Father, on the strength of My passion, for the graces for these souls." The different souls prayed for on each day of the novena are: DAY 1 (Good Friday) - All mankind, especially sinners DAY 2 (Holy Saturday)- The souls of priests and religious DAY 3 (Easter Sunday) - All devout and faithful souls DAY 4 (Easter Monday) - Those who do not believe in Jesus and those who do not yet know Him DAY 5 (Easter Tuesday) - The souls of separated brethren DAY 6 (Easter Wednesday) - The meek and humble souls and the souls of children DAY 7 (Easter Thursday) - The souls who especially venerate and glorify Jesus' mercy DAY 8 (Easter Friday) - The souls who are detained in purga-tory; DAY 9 (Easter Saturday) - The souls who have become luke-warm.
