Thank you, Mom, for all that you have done,

For giving me strength, when I had none.

Thank you for simply being there,

When it seemed no one else cared.

I will always cherish the love we shared.

Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of love;

I know everything great within you came from above.

Thank you for giving me the passion to help others.

I could not have prayed for, or borrowed, a greater mother.

God made no mistake when he brought me into your life;

For 48 years, you made me feel safe, despite my fears.

You were kind, compassionate, graceful, and a true beauty.

You always stressed the importance of unity.

I know all of the pain I am going through

Will soon get easier, because I know God has greater plans for you.

You touched the hearts of everyone you were around,

And there was nothing in this world that could get you down.

Even at the end you said, “I am not worried.”

I knew you were a very strong woman.

Although none of us were ready for you to leave,

You knew the stairway of Heaven was in front of you.

You will always have a special place in my heart;

I will miss you as you go home to be with God.
