PAHAL is a voluntary Non Government

Organization working in the field of social

welfare, Rural & Slum area Sustainable

Development, Environment Protection with the

tool of Self Reliance, Micro Saving, Micro-

Financing, Capacity Building of needy people

specially women, Awareness Programs, Co-

operation & Co ordination. Working in 100

Villages and slum reas of Three Districts of

Uttaranchal & two Districts of UP State. Approached

more than 10000 families

PAHAL has carried out following work in 2006-2008

About Rs.400 lakh ((1000000 $)) has been mobilized

as saving, internal landing, and bank credit. These

groups are being used for social Mobilization also.

Light of Micro creditEarlier we have worked on SHG Bank Linkage

model now we have started direct

Microfinance to SHG's under the aegis of

"PAHAL Community Micro finance Services".

Initially ICICI Bank, Nainital Bank & SIDBI has

extended support of total Rs.105 lakh to us for

direct lending to unprivileged & un served section

of society. Total 61 lakh credit facility has been

provided to 600 member of SHGs?.

Micro InsurancePahal is also facilitating micro insurance product

of well established & reputed Insurance company

like LIC of India, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance

Company & Birla Sunlife Insurance Company to

our clients for securing their life against any

unprecedented circumstances.

Primary EducationBeing a development practitioner pahal ai working

with holistic approaches for the development so we are

providing primary education to the student from

unprivileged & un served section of society.

PAHAL has managed 12 Education Guarantee

Centres (Primary Schools) Having 1200 students

enrolled in following rural & slum area.

This year 5 EGS centers has been up graded and

handed over to state Government. 4 centers has been

taken over by state government and remaining 3

centers are still running by PAHAL in view of order

given by Honorable High Court of Uttakhand.

Bio Fuel Development workPAHAL is associated with Uttarakhand Bio fuel Board

on alternative source of energy issue. Under our

supervision more than 1 Lakh sapling of Jatropha has

been planted in Community Forest by Local villagers

of Champawat District.

MEDP Programme

Earlier PAHAL has conducted selected Rural

Entrepreureship Development Programmes for

enhancing capacity of unemployed youth with the

support of NABARD. These year we have organized

Micro Enterprise Development Programmes for our

SHG Members. NABARD Dehradun Regional office

has sanctioned this programmes and we have provides

skill training of Food processing & Embroidery to the

50 beneficiaries from different SHGs

Health & Pulse Polio Campaign/Immunization Awareness

Mahila Shramirdhi Yojna

Under this programme We have conducted 2 training

programme for skill up gradation of patch work

embroidery crafts persons with the support of National

Minorities Development & Finance Corporation Delhi.

One In One training program 20 women from minority

community has got skill training in Haldwani another

20 women got training in Rampur After training are

working to enhance their income and PAHAL is

supporting to them.

PAHAL is regularly working in Health related issues

PAHAL 's worker are in touch with women members

of SHG and motivating/guiding and referring them as

and when required

Awards & FacilitationIn these two years PAHAL has been awarded "Micro

Finance Continuous Process Excellence Award -

2006" by ABN Amro Bank and Planet Finance for

Micro Finance services and PAHAL supported on

SHG named SURABHI SHG has been chosen as best

performing SHG in Uttarakhand by NABARD.

This SHG has been awarded by union

Finance Minister Mr P. Chidambaram in New Delhi.

This award was given to the 13 best performing

SHG's in all over India.

PAHAL has been also facilitated by Honorable Chief

Minister of Uttrakhand Mr. Narayan Dutt Tewari and

State Bank of India Dehradun Region for remarkable

micro finance services to the disadvantage section of

society.

Earlier PAHAL was also recipient of "Micro Finance

Process Excellence Award -2005"

Primary Education & Child Right

As we have stated that PAHAL is Managing 12 EGS

centers for providing primary education to the students

from under privilege section of society. Education is

major tool for holistic development of the society so

advocacy needs arises every time a part of awareness

among society and at the service delivery channels.

Accordance to this PAHAL has demonstrated a rally in

Haldwani for securing children primary education

right of under privilege section of society when

Primary education dept. has closed all EGS centers

running in state. The news of this rally has aired live in

Many TV channels and TV channels organized live

direct discussion with educationist, Education minister

& social activist on this issue. PAHAL also filed a

petition before Honorable High Court of Uttarakhand

for requesting to quash the cancellation order of 3

EGG centers issued by Dist. Primary Education

Officer these EGS centers are running by PAHAL in

slum area of Haldwani. The Honorable High Court of

Uttarakhand has stayed the order in PAHAL favor.

Marketing of SHG's Products & produced We

are running a marketing outlet in Saras marketing

Centers Haldwani for marketing the products & farm

produced in addition we have also participated in

Many shows and melas organized by different

Agencies for marketing of SHGs products.

SHG Formation training & Exposurevisit ProgrammeWe have conducted in house SHGs formation & micro

credit lending training to our NGO partners & activist

In addition to this programme we have conducted SHG

Formation Training Programme & Exposure visit for

20 National Hydro Power Corporation's officers at RO

Khatima (US Nagar).

Join hand with IIT Roorkee for better implementation of Micro Finance in Development sector

PAHAL has privilege to organized a brainstorming

workshop on Micro Finance in IIT Roorkee. with the

support of Department of Management study IITR.

Chief General Manager NABARD has chaired this

workshop SBI. ICICI, Senior officials & representative

from State Bank, ICICI Micro finance Practitioners &

NGO's has attended and gave valuable suggestion in

this workshop. A policy frame work has been

formulated in this workshop and later submitted to the

State Government. for exploring better prospective

with Micro finance. We are vary thank full to
