Anger

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to

wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,"

says the Lord. Romans 12:19

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man

does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20

"Heat not a furnace for your foe so that it do singe yourself." -William Shakespeare

"God isn't saying we shouldn't express our thoughts and emotions but that we need to do so wisely. If we quickly go on the attack,...we may find ourselves without defenses.

Like an un-walled city..." Pamela McQuade

"Father God. I have been quick to anger and even quicker to act on my anger

which is something you have told me not to do. It is sinful and it goes against the

peaceful and compassionate nature that you have enabled all of your children to

have. As you dwell in me father, raise the character of you up in me, so that I

can have the spirit you need me to have. Control my anger, and more

importantly, my mind and my life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen"

Bereavement

He is not a God of the dead but of the living. For to Him WE ARE ALL ALIVE. Luke 20:38

This is my comfort in my affliction, for your words have

given me life. Psalms 119:50

"We are so eager, we demand. We demand in this world what only the next world can give. No sickness, no suffering,

no struggle. We stomp our feet and shake our fists, forgetting it is only in Heaven such peace is found."

Max Lucado

"The obituary editor of the Boston newspaper was not one who would admit his mistakes easily. One day, he got a phone call form an irate

subscriber who complained that his name just appeared in the obituary column. "Really,?" came the calm reply, "Where are you calling from?!"

As story told by Archbishop John L. May of St. Louis

"Dear Lord, I know that you are the creator of all things and you are the Father

of all the earth. You created us in your image to love us and you gave us your

only son so that you can acquire us as sons and daughters. It is hard watching

you finish what you started when you call a loved one home. Give us rest and

peace in your grace so that we may one day be where our loved ones are now,

home. Amen"

Confusion

God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all of the churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:33

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will

be given to him. James 1:5

"A Christians place is behind God not ahead of himself." R. Christopher, COB

"Instead of going around in circles confused, I started going down on my knees in prayer. Prayer, I found,

has much better scenery." COB supporter Nickio Davis, Harrison TN

"Thank you, Lord for providing all of our needs. Help us to understand that

everything we need in all aspects of our lives comes from you. You are the head

of the household, the head of the church and the head of our lives. You are the

one we should turn too to meet our needs. Lord help us to be more like you in

meeting the needs of others as well and to take care of the responsibilities. Lead

us and guide us. Amen"

Doubt

We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but

not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. -2 Corinthians 4:8-9

My counsel shall stand, and I will do my pleasure...Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it. -Isaiah

He moves when we don't expect Him to...He knows the doors that we face. He speaks right before we

stop believing...He shows His love through His Grace" Lyrics from J. Moss' Psalms 150

"God does not dispense strength and encouragement like a druggist fills your prescription. The Lord doesn’t promise to give us something to take so we can handle our weary moments. He

promises us Himself. That is all and that is enough." Charles W. Swindle

"Our Father, give us patience to wait on your divine word. Help us

to understand that that you care for us and you know exactly

when to act on our behalf. Give us the strength to stand until you

come. We need not doubt you when we know to trust you. Amen"

Drudgery

I have this against you, that you have left your first love. -Revelations 2:4

If we had forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a foreign god, would not God search

follow His commands about our situation, He will help us find a way out...."

Pamela McQuade The everyday guide to success Humble Creek publishing 2002

God is always with us; why should we not always be with God?"

-W.B Ullathorne

"Father God, I come to you as a child not knowing the words to say to

describe neither what I have done nor how I feel. But I know you know

what is in my heart. Search me o Lord and strengthen me where I am

weak. Build me up where I am torn down and prop me up on every

leaning side. I am lowly and in despair. You hear me even when I am

silent and you encourage me even when I am slow and stubborn. Thank

you. In Jesus name, Amen.

we believe on you your word right now heavenly Father. We

Stress

I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints. Psalms

85:8

righteousness quietness and assurance forever. And my people

shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in

quiet resting places. Isaiah 32:17-18

can feel more restful than a month's vacation." Pamela McQuade

God does not dispense strength and encouragement like a druggist fills your prescription. The Lord doesn’t promise to give us

something to take so we can handle our weary moments. He promises us Himself. That is all and that is enough."

Charles W. Swindoll

"Dear Lord, please help us learn to quiet ourselves in your

presence so that we can hear the calm of your voice and gather

the strength of your solace. Let us willingly carve out time from

our schedule of what we think is important in order to focus on

the promise of your word, which is truly the most important thing.

Let us look to you for our emotional needs as well as our spiritual,

physical and financial. We know you care for us and you will

provide for us. Give us that peace that surpasses all understanding

and the grace to endure the stresses of life... not with a grain of

salt, but with a mustard seed of faith! Amen"

when God whispers you name." Max Lucado

Witnessing

No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lamp stand, that those who come in may see the light. Luke 11:33

That the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, so I do. Arise,

let us go from here. John 14:31

"Other books were given for our information, the Bible was given for our transformation."

-Anonymous

"Dear Lord, we come humbling ourselves before you. We ask

that you give us the strength to go forth and tell a dying

world about a living Christ. Father we know that you have

delivered us from our past offences and you have cast them

into the sea of forgetfulness. Help us to do the same so we

can move past guilt, fear and shame and be lights in a dark

world. Amen"

Word of God

Romans 10:17; So then Faith commeth by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

John 5:39; Search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify

of me.

1Peter 2:2; As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.

Think of the Word of God as a band aid for the wounds of life. It is medicine for the spirit that

strengthens to body and protects the soul. " -R. Christopher

Lord our God, you told us to work while it was day, for when night

will come no man can work. We ask dear Lord that you soften our

hearts and renew our spirit so that you may show us what you

would have us to do. Let our works be acceptable to you. We ask

that you bring us closer to your sweet spirit and that you open our

eyes and ears so that our minds will be focused on reaching out to

others as your life and death did. Lead us and guide us in the

spirit of your fathers work. All these things we ask in Jesus name.

Amen
