About the College and Courses Offered

Sardar Patel Mahavidyalaya is committed to impart moral, physical, socialand cultural education to the students at higher secondary, undergraduate andpost graduate level. It also ensures and inculcates perfect discipline with regard toregularity, sincerity and punctuality among the students and teachers. The collegeis pursuing knowledge through academics and extracurricular activities. To markthis Maharashtra Government has honored “Sarvodaya Shikshan Mandal” for itscontribution to society by the hands of the then Chief Minister Honorable ShriLate Vilasrao Deshmukh on 5th September 2004.

Sarvodaya Shikshan Mandal, Chandrapur has been working in the field ofeducation for the last more than 50 years. Apart from running the degree collegeof Arts, Commerce and Science, it offers post graduation courses in Arts, Commerceand Science. In Science Faculty P. G. courses are offered in subjects likeBiotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Zoology,Environmental Science and Computer Science with well equipped laboratories andwell furnished class rooms. The college also offers courses in MCA, MCM, B.Sc. IT,BCA and PGDCS & A, Library Science, Home Science and Fashion Designing. Alongof with this, college also runs UGC sponsored remedial courses, MPSC, UPSC andBanking classes. The college has a placement cell where students are giveninformation about the vacancies and campus interviews are arranged for thestudents. The college publishes a students magazine 'Shabdagandha' yearly andprovide a platform to the students to express their innovative ideas and articles onvarious topics.

From last seven years, college is publishing SPM-Journal of AcademicResearch (ISSN 2277-3908) and Student's Research Magazine (ISSN 22777776)for multi-disciplinary studies. The college has Centre for Higher Learning andResearch in various subjects of Science, Arts and Commerce.

Students admitted for the session 2020-21 were covered under accidentinsurance by college. As per government resolution all the students admitted fromthe session 2020-21 will be eligible for accident insurance.

Thus, the college is totally engaged in overall personality development of thestudents and considered to be largest centre of education and research in GondwanaUniversity, Gadchiroli.

1) Students/ Guardians are expected to read the prospectus carefully and submitthe admission form duly filled on or before the due date.

2) Personal interview is necessary for admission. The students must bring allthe original documents with them for interview. No original documents shouldbe attach with admission form, instead the attested copies of documentsshould be attached. However, original copy of transfer certificate (TC) is to beattached.

3) Selected candidates for admission must pay the admission fees within thedeclared date without fail.

4) For details of syllabus students are advice to go through the information givenby Gondwana University, Gadchiroli.

5) Students must keep sufficient number of Xerox copies of original documentswith them.

6) Once the admission is finalized, no change in subject will be allowed.

7) Eligibility certificate issued by Gondwana University, Gadchiroli is necessaryfor admission for the students of other Universities and States. Eligibilitycertificate must be attached to the admission form.

8) a) Students of other Universities and States are required to submit migrationcertificate for the finalization of their admission by the University.

b) A fine of Rs.25/-per document will be imposed by the University on suchstudents who fail to submit the migration certificate within due date.

9) No application for admission will be entertained on the expiry of last date ofadmission declared by the Gondwana University, Gadchiroli.

10) Incomplete application form will not be considered for admission.

11) No correspondence will be entertained if the application for admission isrejected.

12) As per the order of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India (Order No. 2429/2008)raging in the college campus is a legal offence. If anybody found guilty thedisciplinary committee shall take serious action against him/her.

13) Dress code is compulsory to every PG student, without dress code he/shewill not be allowed to enter in the college campus.

14) Internal assessment marks are strictly given on the basis of performance ofstudent considering as per Gondwana University guidelines. No argumentsregarding this are entertained by subject teacher and head of the depart-ment.

15) For session 2020-21, prospectus is available online on the websitewww.spm.ac.in. Students are required to register through link available onthe website. Students need to register first and then apply online. You needto bring your passport photo, signature, educational documents in digitalformat in your pendrive which is required during form filling in online mode.Computer lab and teacher guidance will be made available.

ENROLMENT

Students, who have passed the qualifying examination from other statutoryBoard/University and admitted to any course of Gondwana University, Gadchiroliare required to get enrolled in Gondwana University before appearing at the Uni-versity Examination. No students will be eligible to appear at University Examina-tion unless he/she is finally enrolled in the University.

Enrolment application in the prescribed form of all candidates including thoseimmigrating to this University are to be submitted to the University on or before 15September of each year. Therefore, students have to submit enrolment forms withdocuments and fees to this office on or before 20th August along with requisitestatement, enrolment and immigration fees, original copies of mark sheet of quali-fying examination and migration certificate issued by the Board/University last at-tended. The college has to submit all the original certificate along with the Enrol-ment application to the University on or before 19 September.

Relevant certificates (such as migration, mark list, passing certificate etc.)submitted after the due date should be accompanied with late fee of Rs. 25/-permonth. It should be noted that in any case enrolment forms needs to be sent tothe University before the due date, failure to complete the enrolment by this date,the student shall not be permitted to appear at the University Examination.

ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE

University has decided to issue Eligibility Certificate to the student who arepassing the qualifying examinations from statutory Boards/Universities in India andabroad (Excluding M.S. Board of Education, Pune and RTM Nagpur University) de-sires to seek admission to various courses of this University from the new aca-demic session. Such students are required to apply to the University in prescribedform along with original mark lists from 10th standard onwards and xerox copies ofthe same and a prescribed fee of Rs. 100/- (including N.R.I. students) 50% of whichis refunded to the students who are not eligible for admission to the course. TheEligibility certificate must be submitted to the college at the time of admission.

Eligibility :- Admission of the student is subject to fulfillment of eligibility condi-tions of Gondwana University, Gadchiroli.1. Student will be expelled from the institute when found disobeying the order

of the Principal and the faculty members.2. The student should be regular in attendance and his/her attendance for the

day shall be marked only when he/she is present for all the session during theday. The 75% attendance is necessary as per rules of Gondwana University,Gadchiroli.

3. The attendance for the tests and tutorials conducted in the Institute is com-pulsory.

4. The student should submit the assignments, in given time if not he/she shallbe subjected to disciplinary action.

5. The vehicles should be parked on a place notified and the vehicles parkedelsewhere i.e. other than parking zone shall be confiscated.

6. The student should carry identity card with him/her regularly and the identitycard should be produced when demanded by the authority of the institute.Duplicate identity card can be issued on payment of Rs. 25/- if the originalidentity card is lost or mutilated. The student should prepared their identitycard within 15 days from the date of admission. Thereafter a fine of Rs. 100/-is to be paid.

7. The student should not cause any damage to the Institute's property. Thedamage caused shall be recovered from the student immediately.

8. The student found guilty by an act of misconduct either in the institute oroutside shall be subjected to strict disciplinary action and may be expelledfrom theinstitute.

9. If the student is found weak in certain subject he/she will have to attend extraclasses as notified and make the required progress to come with the otherstudents.

10. The students are advice to go through Notice Board regularly. College will notbe responsible for any loss due to negligence.

11. Attendance is compulsory on various National programmes and collegeprogrammes.

12. Student should not participate in non-academic and violent activities.13. Student may expelled from college due to

14. Student should pay the fees and other fines immediately.15. Student should maintain discipline in class.

16. Student can avail only those facilities, which are available in college.17. Students can apply for duplicate T.C. after six months by paying Rs. 500/- if

reason is valid.18. Students should not move around in college gallery or campus in leisure time.19. Except for government work personal information of student will not be fur-

nished to any one without prior permission of concern student.20. As per Govt. circular from session 2010-2011 any kind of Govt. scholarship

will be issued through nationalized bank hence, concerned student must men-tion his/her own bank account number while filling admission and scholar-ship form without fail. Submission of bank account number is compulsory.In any case college will not be held responsible for not receiving the scholar-ship.

21. Transfer certificate, mark list and other documents will not be return oncesubmitted.

22. It is the responsibility of the student to submit the examination form onlinecorrectly in the given time mentioned by university. If delay, college will notbe responsible.

23. It is the responsibility of the students to submit the scholarship form online.24. If not, then it is compulsory to pay all fees and other dues in the college. The

students should submit the enrolment form online.25. Student are informed to contact Vice-Principal for any query or information.

Student should not contact Principal directly for such reason.26. Student should submit migration certificate within one month from the date

ofadmission. Cancellation of admission due to above reason is the responsi-bility of student.

27. If student of the senior college have any complaint, they should contact VicePrincipal of the college.

28. Students from other university should submit Eligibility Certificate ofGondwanaUniversity at the time of admission.

29. Those students who will be availing scholarship from various agencies, atten-dance of 75% and above is compulsory. If the attendance is less than 75% noattendance certificate will be issued.

30. It is the responsibility of the student to submit online as well as hard copy ofthe appropriate scholarship form along with necessary documents within duedate. he After submission of the scholarship form, if by any reason, the formget rejected and scholarship is not provided by concerned agency, collegeauthority and administration will not be responsible for it and student will besolely responsible for it.

31. All students who desires to avail government scholarship, it is requested toopen a savings account in a nationalized bank only.

For the purpose of internal assessment the department will conduct I) TestExam and 2) Assignment separately for all 4 papers.

I. In each semester student will have to give seminar on any topic relevant tothe syllabus encompassing the recent trends and development in that field. Thetopic of the seminar will be decided at the beginning of each semester in consulta-tion with the supervising teachers. The student has to deliver the seminar for onehour duration which will be followed by discussion. The seminar will be open to allthe teachers deputed by the Head of the Department.

2. The student will have to carry out the research based project work in lieuof practical in the fourth semester in the department or depending on the avail-ability of placement; he/she will be attached to any of the national/regional/pri-vate research institute/organization for the duration of the fourth semester. Thestudent will be randomly allotted the priority number for the selection of the su-pervisor at the end of third semester. The student in consultation with supervisorwill finalize the topic of the project work at the end of the third semester.

INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

Every student is required to carry out Experimental/Field Based Work (this isin lieu of practical Il of semester IV) on a related research topic of the subject/course. It must be an original work and must indicate some degree of experimen-tal work. On the basis of this work, student must submit the project report (typedand properly bound) in two copies at least one month prior to commencement ofthe final Practical examination of Semester IV. The project report shall comprise ofIntroduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion, Summary, Conclusion andReferences along with declaration by candidate that the work is original and notsubmitted to any other University or Organization for award of degree and certifi-cate by the supervisor and forwarded through head/Course-coordinator/Directorof the Department/Centre or the Principal of the college. For Project work: 80Marks and for Internal Assessment of the Project Work 20 Marks.
