I. One is never alone when one is with books. Reading will teach you
many new words. Reading helps you discover lots of new things. Read
atleast two storybooks from the list of books given below by Sudha
Murthy
1. The Bird With Golden Wings
2. The Day I Stopped Drinking Milk
3. The Magic Drum And Other Favourite Stories
4. Grandma’s Bag of Stories
Prepare a report on the books you have read by answering the following
questions
1. The character you like the most. Why?
2. The character you do not like. Why?
3. A brief outline of the story.
4. The value you learnt from the story.
5. Also draw a picture of your favourite character.
II. Weaving a story is fun. Weave a story based on some virtues like love,
kindness and sharing in ten to fifteen sentences. Stick pictures related
to the story and submit in the form of a booklet. You can use the
words from the help box to weave
Traffic, old man, noise, zebra crossing, banana peel, animal/
bird, help, return, safely.
III. Read newspaper everyday. Find any two words and frame sentences
using those words. Also write their meanings. (two words per week)
IV. Lets have ‘fun with words’. Make as many three , four or five letter
words as you can from any of the two words given below. Place these
words neatly on a cutout and hang them under the beautiful coloured
and decorated cutout of the main word. Admire your creativity being
transformed into an amazingly gorgeous WORD MOBILE. ( An example
is done for you).
