Padas River Padas River White Water Rafting (Grade III-IV) is a challenging and adventurous experience you can get while travelling in Sabah. This exhilarating excursion covers a distance of 30 kilometers—making it the longest rafting route in Borneo by far. Padas River has also been rated to have some of the best and safest rapids in South East Asia. It is suitable for rafters aged 12 to 55.

Beaufort From Kota Kinabalu city, take a ride to Beaufort Town by 2 hours drive, then take a local train to the starting point at Pangi. Beaufort, meaning “the beautiful fort” in old French, is a sister town to North Carolina, a Southeastern state of United States. It is located in the interior division of Southwestern part of Sabah, east Malaysia on the Island of Borneo.

Local Train The thrilling yet scenic ride will take around 1 ½ hours to get to Rayoh station (ending point). You will have 10 minutes stopped here to get a quick change. Wear ONLY necessary gear and keep ALL your belonging here and get back to the train for another 30 minutes train ride to Pangi station (starting point).

Rapids Grade III-IV There are six grades of difficulty in white water rafting (refer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafting#Grades_of_white_water). Padas Rafting commence from starting point to ending point will take about 1 ½ – 2 hours (10km) includes 8 points of rapids namely Head Hunter, Lambada, Cobra, Scooby Doo, Washing Machine, Merry-Go-Round, Snake House and BBQ Rapid.

0540hrs Pick up from Kota Kinabalu City (KK) hotel and transfer by coach to Beaufort

Railway Station.

Lunch

0730hrs Arrive at Beaufort, get onboard train.

0900hrs 10 minutes stopped at Rayoh Station to keep your belonging and get change for rafting gears.

1030hrs Arrive at Pangi Station (Starting point), safety briefing will be conducted.

Rafting commence from starting point to Rayoh (Ending point) which take about 1 ½ hours-2hours (10km).

1200hrs Buffet lunch

1330hrs Depart back by train to Beaufort, 2-2 ½ hours on train ride.

1545hrs Transfer back to KK City Hotel by coach or van.

1800hrs Estimated time arrival in Kota Kinabalu.
