Setting up the School Counseling Program (Management)ASCA Recommends Application

• Establish a program budget

• Ensure the following preconditions are met: equal access, adequate budget/resources, collaborative effort, administrative support, state leadership/technical support.

• Complete management agreement forms

• Meet with administrators to discuss funding for special activities. Have your completed management agreement forms, Guidance Curriculum Action Plan, and Closing the Gap Action Plan available for referencing

• Be sure to discuss how the program will meet the needs of all students (link to data)

Working the School Counseling Program (Management)

• Develop at least one closing-the-gap activity

• Use the yearly calendar to identify major tasks or tasks with deadlines i.e. credit checks, IPDP, update 504 plans
