Pack Proof 21.07 – Quick Start Guide

Pack Proof 21.07 is the first version using the new v20.0 Esko Proof Server based on the EFI Fiery XF 7.1.4 version. The Esko Proof Server comes with a new user experience, hence introducing new tools and new names for the software components.

This quick start guide will give an overview of the new components to optimize your migration experience (migrating from the old v18.0 Esko Proof Server). It is however not the intention to replace the Pack Proof documentation. Consult the documentation for a step-by-step guide of the installation and configuration process.

On the Automation Engine side there aren’t any major changes. The focus of this guide is on the proof server side.

Esko Proof Server / Esko Server Control The Esko Proof Server is running as a windows service (Esko Proof Server) Green proof server icon located in the system tray is replaced by the Esko

Server Control tool. This tool runs automatically at startup of Windows.

Click on the icon in the task bar to open the tool

• Use it to start / stop the Esko Proof Server• Use it to open the Fiery Command Workstation• Use it to change the temp data location

Fiery Command Workstation Esko Proof Client is replaced by a new client called Fiery Command

Workstation (FCW).

Start the FCW via the “Esko Command Workstation” link from the Esko Server Control or use the shortcut in the Windows Start menu.

Fiery Command Workstation Use the FCW to create a new media (in the old proof server this was called

an output device) and a new workflow.
