My life was challenging growing up fatherless and in poverty. I almost allowed the pain to

lead me down the wrong path but, I began to learn success principles. These principles challenged my thinking and habits. Without

them, I would not be where I am today.

It does not matter where you are in life, there is always room for improvement. This course

serves as education and coaching for a successful life. You will be encouraged to do more, be more, and have more in your life.

emotional resilience and mental health. It has been described as the perfect combination of stand-up comedy, interactive demonstrations and

inspirational stories. Matt empowers students to be leaders in their lives and

make changes in their environment. During the program, he also shares his

own story of student prevention leadership, as the founder of a nationally

recognized student group at Bucknell University.

Registration Fee is $40.00 per person (Students and Advisors) if received prior to October 20, 2017. Registrations and/or fees received after October 20, 2017 will be at the rate of $50.00 per person.

Registration fee includes: keynote speakers, conference give-away, conference materials, & buffet lunch. BREAKFAST WILL NOT BE SERVED.

Registration Policy: Your chapter/school is responsible for payment of the number of registrants listed on this form. If you have students/advisors who do not show the day of the conference it is not considered a cancellation. It is the

responsibility of chapter/school to cover their registration fee. Cancellation Policy: Registrations cancelled 10 days or less before the conference will not be eligible for a refund. All

At the 2017 PA SADD Conferences, PA SADD will recognize the stellar work of some of its most outstanding contributors. Chosen from nominations made by PA SADD representatives across the Commonwealth, PA SADD will present the following awards. Award recipients will receive recognition at the state conference (s). Awards will

presented at both the 7-Springs and Lancaster Conferences.

AWARDS DESCRIPTION

•Activity of the Year: This award is for the best activity, campaign, program, or project by a chapter related to SADD’s mission of promoting safe and healthy decision-making. Judges will consider the following qualities, among others: innovation, creativity, reach, effectiveness, and collaboration. In your nomination, provide a detailed written summary of the activity, including its name, goal or purpose, date (s) when the activity was held, target audience,

number of people affected and how, any costs associated with its implementation, and any resulting media coverage. You may include a letter of support from a school administrator or partner as well as other supporting

material. •Chapter of the Year: This award will be presented to the best SADD chapter. What qualities define a chapter as the best? There can be many different things. Tell us why you think your chapter is the best and provide back up

materials to support your nomination. On the nomination form, be sure to include the name of your chapter and your school (including the address), your advisor’s name and contact information, a brief history of your chapter, and

details about its activities over the past school year, including why you think it should be recognized as Chapter of the Year. You may include news clips, a letter of support from a school administrator and/or parent, or other

supporting materials. •Advisor of the Year: This award will be presented to the individual who is considered the most outstanding SADD advisor. Include the reasons why you think your advisor is the best, share his or her passion for SADD, and provide examples to support your nomination. 2017 PA SADD Awards

Workshop #1 What Do You Consider Lethal? Utilizing materials from Impact Teen Drivers the PA Teen Safe Driving Coalition will reach teens, parents, and teachers with the message of safe teen driving by utilizing engaging curriculum, which will be offered free to high schools online through the Impact Teen Drivers web portals impactteendrivers.org, whatslethal.com, and rulethal.com. The current teen campaign What Do You Consider Lethal? Participants of this session will also explore proper car maintenance and evaluate ways to create a safer driving experience. Be prepared to Change & Empower. Presenters: Impact Teen Drivers Presenters from Pennsylvania.

Workshop #2 Minding Your Mind Mental health applies to everyone, not just people suffering from mental illnesses. Everyone deals with stress, grief, anxiety, or self doubt at some point in their life; it’s good to learn coping skills that will help you maintain a mentally healthy lifestyle throughout your life. In this workshop you will learn how your chapter can implement a Mental Health campaign to their student bodies. Be prepared to Empower. Presenter: Minding Your Mind.

Workshop #3 Pennsylvania’s Drug Culture This workshop will focus on the current drug epidemic in Pennsylvania and what SADD chapters can do to Change culture in schools and communities. This workshop will be presented by PA Office of Attorney General.

Workshop #4 BINGO! Traffic Safety messaging can be presented in this fun and interactive way! Get ready to Engage and Mobilize others to be traffic safety experts. Presented by PA TIPP.

Workshop #5 New Programs, New Campaigns, Funding Opportunities This session will include the program opportunities for chapters including funding information, campaign information and methods to Empower, Engage and Mobilize your members, school & community.

Workshop #6 SADD members, chapters and leaders Engage, Mobilize, Empower & Change their schools and communities everyday and this session will be an idea exchange of chapter successes.

**The Interactive Traffic Safety Lab will be open at 7:30 am-12:30 pm for students to engage with exhibitors and share new ideas with their community. ***Workshops Subject to Change.
