Direct School Admission (DSA-Sec)• Allows students to apply to some secondary schools before PSLE based on skills
not demonstrated in PSLE• Supports holistic development• Allows students to continue to develop their talents, potential & achievements in
secondary schools which offer distinctive programmes like sports, math & science, performing arts, music, leadership, etc.
Look for schools that match your child’s • strengths & interests• pace of learning• overall range of programmes offeredHence, while your child is developing his strengths & interests, he will continue to enjoy learning at an appropriate pace & benefit from the school’s overall programmes.
How to get the latest information about what secondary schools offer?• MOE’s DSA-Sec website https://beta.moe.gov.sg/secondary/dsa/• Check secondary schools’ websites for updated info on DSA categories, selection
timeline & criteria. • Attend Open House (https://www.schoolbag.sg/story/open-house-dates-of-
secondary-schools-2019 (This year’s information has yet to be updated)
Possible DSA-Sec Outcomes• Confirmed Offer (CO)
Child is guaranteed a place provided they accept the offer & qualify for an academic course offered by the school i.e. Express, NA or NT based on PSLE results
• Wait List (WL) (with rank order) Child given a place only if the place is not taken up
• Unsuccessful Child not given a place. May apply through S1 Posting with PSLE results
Single centralised DSA-Sec Application Portal
• Application is done through a single centralized DSA-Sec Application Portal for all Sec schools that offer distinctive programmes from early May to early June.
• No application fees charged• Encourage more students to consider talent development as it is open to all students• Applicants for SOTA & SSP will have to apply directly to the schools & follow their timelines• Each applicant can indicate up to 3 choices. Consider carefully. Help manage the time &
effort so that your child will not be put through multiple trials & interviews.• On top of the 3 choices made, each applicant can apply separately to SOTA &/or SSP• Access Portal using only one parent’s SingPass login. Parents who are unable to access
their SingPass can seek primary schools’ assistance• No testimonial is required for application• No submission of hardcopy documents required in round 1 • Secondary Schools may conduct interviews, tests, trials or camps to identify students
strengths, fundamentals & potential talents. Personal essays to be written only on the day of interview
Examples of Choice Combinations
A student can apply to up to 3 different schools, with no restrictions on the talent areas.
A student cannot use all 3 choices on one school. He can leave the 3rd choice blank or choose another sch.
