School Homework
School HomeworkObjectives of Homework:
• To reinforce classroom learning objectives
• To provide pupils with the opportunity to consolidate
and apply what has been learned in class, complete
unfinished class assignments and develop independence
• To allow teachers to check for pupils’ understanding and
progress, so as to provide timely feedback, intervention and support
• To provide parents with timely information on the learning
progress of their child and opportunity to be involved in the
child’s learning.
Homework contributes toward building self-discipline,
responsibility & lifelong learning habits
School Homework
Homework assigned will be recorded in the
School Diary
Assignments will be given regularly without
overloading pupils unnecessarily
School Homework How Parents Can Help :
Let’s work closely with the school and help your child in
his/her learning by:
• Checking your child’s Student Diary regularly for list of homework
assigned
• Setting a regular, uninterrupted study time for your child each day
• Helping your child work on finding the answer, not just get it done
• Being supportive when your child gets frustrated with difficult
assignments
• Communicating with the teachers to stay well-informed about your
child’s learning progress
Teachers’ Expectations
In School
Handle personal belongings and school materials with care & pride (Responsibility)
Pay attention during lessons(Self-discipline)
Submit all school work & homework on time (Responsibility)
Show respect and care towards others(Affection)
Be a good team player(Teamwork)
Exhibit STAR Values At All Times
Please ensure your child packs his / her school bag daily so that the load on your child’s bag is manageable
Kindly ensure the essential items to bring daily as well as the homework to be submitted are packed in your child’s bag
We discourage pupils from bringing trolley bags to school as they are cumbersome for moving up and down the stairs
Please label all of your child’s personal belongings with his name and class to facilitate the return of lost items should they be found
Pupils should not bring valuable items or excessiveamounts of pocket money
