Project Award Application
Student Guide
To complete the Project Award Application, please use the application through the “Community Force” website (launched Spring 2020).
First, go to “uwf_our.commminityforce.com” or follow the link on the OUR Website This will
bring you to the login page.
Article I. Create a New Account
- New users will need to create an account - Returning users need to log in

After creating an account, sign in with your username and password.

Article II. Student Portal Available award applications are listed.
1. Select OUR Project Award Application.

Article III. Student Portal – OUR Project Award Application
1. Read the Application Fund Details description first to ensure you have met the
necessary requirements before starting the application.
2. Click on “Apply” to begin award application.

3. The “Start a New Application” message will pop-up. Select “Apply for Self” or “Apply on
behalf of someone”. A scenario in which you would apply on behalf of someone is if you
are the team leader for a group project.
Article IV. Student Portal – OUR Project Award Application (Apply for Self)
1. For your records and the tracking of your applications, input the title of your project or
some description of your project. For the project award applications, students can apply
for multiple funding awards, so a title or project description will keep you organized.
2. Click “Apply”.

Begin your application by completing each of the required fields.

1. Read and Click “Yes” to the outlined award requirements and guidelines.
2. Click “Submit”. A Status Update message will appear, and you will be directed to the
dashboard.

Article VII. Student Portal – OUR Project Award Application (Application Dashboard: Student Information)
1. Enter student information.
2. If applying for a group project award, one student needs to complete this portion. That
student should be identified as the lead for the application.
3. Click “Submit”. A Status Update message will appear, and you will be directed to the
dashboard.

Article VIII.Student Portal – OUR Project Award Application (Application Dashboard: Faculty Mentor Information)
1. Complete the faculty mentor information, with approval from your faculty mentor.
2. Click “submit”. A Status Update message will appear, and you will be directed to the
dashboard.

Article IX. Student Portal – OUR Project Award Application (Application Dashboard: Acknowledgement of Program Requirements)

1. Complete the form;
2. Input electronic signature. A timestamp will be input. Click submit again.
3. A Status Update message will appear, and you will be directed to the dashboard.

Article X. Student Portal – OUR Project Award Application (Application Dashboard: Research Project Information)
1. Complete the Research Project Information page.
2. Enter your project title
3. Upload a Word or pdf document with a clear and complete project description. If you
are unsure how to write a research proposal, a guide is available for download
4. If your research involves human subjects, you must have UWF’s Institutional Review
Board (IRB) approval. This approval process can take up to six weeks, so plan accordingly
and keep in mind your funded project must be completed by the end of the current
academic year.

5. Click “Submit”. You will receive a Status Update message, and you will be directed to the
dashboard.
Article XI. Student Portal – OUR Project Award Application (Application
Dashboard: Budget Information)
1. Enter your project budget total.
2. Upload a Word or PDF document containing your budget information. If you are unsure
how to complete a budget, a guide is available for download.
3. Enter the total amount requested from the OUR.
4. Click “Yes” after you have read the budget confirmation.
5. Click “Submit”. A Status Update message will appear, and you will be directed to the
dashboard.

Article XII. Student Portal – OUR Project Award Application (Application Dashboard: Request)
1. Click on Letter of Commitment Faculty Mentor The page will change to allow you to submit your faculty mentor’s information

2. Enter your faculty mentor’s information as well as any additional information you would
like to include with your submission.
3. Click “Email Request”
4. The page will indicate that your request was sent.

Article XIII.Student Portal – OUR Project Award Application (Application Dashboard: Final Review and Submit)
1. After all sections are complete (reading 100%), review your application before
submission.
a. “Choose Action-Preview Application”
b. Review your application. You may print it.
2. Click “Final Review and Submit”.
3. Click “Continue with Review”
Congratulations! You have successfully applied for an OUR Award. A confirmation email will be
sent to you. We anticipate funding decisions to be sent out approximately one month after the
due date for submissions.
