Hearth&HomeTechnologies,onbehalfofitshearthbrands(”HHT”),extendsthefollowingwarrantyforHHTgas,wood,pellet,coalandelectrichearthappliancesthatarepurchasedfromanHHTauthorizeddealer.

wARRANTy COVERAGE:HHTwarrantstotheoriginalowneroftheHHTapplianceatthesiteofinstallation,andtoanytransfereetakingownershipoftheapplianceatthesiteofinstallationwithintwoyearsfollowingthedateoforiginalpurchase,thattheHHTappliancewillbefreefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipatthetimeofmanufacture.Afterinstallation,ifcoveredcompo-nentsmanufacturedbyHHTarefoundtobedefectiveinmaterialsorworkmanshipduringtheapplicablewarrantyperiod,HHTwill,atitsoption,repairorreplacethecoveredcomponents.HHT,atitsowndiscretion,mayfullydischargeallofitsobligationsundersuchwarrantiesbyreplacingtheproductitselforrefundingtheverifiedpurchasepriceoftheproductitself.Themaximumamountrecoverableunderthiswarrantyislimitedtothepurchasepriceoftheproduct.Thiswarrantyissubjecttoconditions,exclusionsandlimitationsasdescribedbelow.

wARRANTy PERIOD:Warrantycoveragebeginsonthedateoforiginalpurchase.Inthecaseofnewhomeconstruction,warrantycoveragebeginsonthedateoffirstoccupancyofthedwellingorsixmonthsafterthesaleoftheproductbyanindependent,authorizedHHTdealer/distributor,whicheveroccursearlier.Thewarrantyshallcommencenolaterthan24monthsfollowingthedateofproductshipmentfromHHT,regardlessoftheinstallationoroccupancydate.Thewarrantyperiodforpartsandlaborforcoveredcomponentsisproducedinthefollowingtable.Theterm“LimitedLifetime”inthetablebelowisdefinedas:20yearsfromthebeginningdateofwarrantycoverageforgasappliances,and10yearsfromthebeginningdateofwarrantycoverageforwood,pellet,andcoalappliances.Thesetimeperiodsreflecttheminimumexpectedusefullivesofthedesignatedcomponentsundernormaloperatingconditions.

HHTauthorizeddealersisavailableontheHHTbrandedwebsites.• ThiswarrantyisonlyvalidwhiletheHHTapplianceremainsatthesiteoforiginalinstallation.•ThiswarrantyisonlyvalidinthecountryinwhichtheHHTauthorizeddealerordistributorthatsoldtheappliance

resides.• Contactyourinstallingdealerforwarrantyservice.Iftheinstallingdealerisunabletoprovidenecessaryparts,contact

thenearestHHTauthorizeddealerorsupplier.Additionalservicefeesmayapplyifyouareseekingwarrantyservicefromadealerotherthanthedealerfromwhomyouoriginallypurchasedtheproduct.

• Checkwithyourdealerinadvanceforanycoststoyouwhenarrangingawarrantycall.Travelandshippingchargesforpartsarenotcoveredbythiswarranty.

This warranty is void if:• Theappliancehasbeenover-firedoroperatedinatmospherescontaminatedbychlorine,fluorine,orotherdamaging

chemicals.Over-firingcanbeidentifiedby,butnotlimitedto,warpedplatesortubes,rustcoloredcastiron,bubbling,crackinganddiscolorationofsteelorenamelfinishes.

• Theapplianceissubjectedtoprolongedperiodsofdampnessorcondensation.• Thereisanydamagetotheapplianceorothercomponentsduetowaterorweatherdamagewhichistheresultof,but

notlimitedto,improperchimneyorventinginstallation.

LIMITATIONS OF LIAbILITy:• Theowner’sexclusiveremedyandHHT’ssoleobligationunderthiswarranty,underanyotherwarranty,expressor

implied,orincontract,tortorotherwise,shallbelimitedtoreplacement,repair,orrefund,asspecifiedabove.InnoeventwillHHTbeliableforanyincidentalorconsequentialdamagescausedbydefectsintheappliance.Somestatesdonotallowexclusionsorlimitationofincidentalorconsequentialdamages,sotheselimitationsmaynotapplytoyou.Thiswarrantygivesyouspecificrights;youmayalsohaveotherrights,whichvaryfromstatetostate.EXCEPTTOTHEEXTENTPROVIDEDBYLAW,HHTMAKESNOEXPRESSWARRANTIESOTHERTHANTHEWARRANTYSPECIFIEDHEREIN.THEDURATIONOFANYIMPLIEDWARRANTYISLIMITEDTODURATIONOFTHEEXPRESSEDWARRANTYSPECIFIEDABOVE.

wARRANTy ExCLUSIONS:Thiswarrantydoesnotcoverthefollowing:• Changesinsurfacefinishesasaresultofnormaluse.Asaheatingappliance,somechangesincolorofinteriorand

exteriorsurfacefinishesmayoccur.Thisisnotaflawandisnotcoveredunderwarranty.• Damagetoprinted,plated,orenameledsurfacescausedbyfingerprints,accidents,misuse,scratches,melteditems,

orotherexternalsourcesandresiduesleftontheplatedsurfacesfromtheuseofabrasivecleanersorpolishes.• Repairorreplacementofpartsthataresubjecttonormalwearandtearduringthewarrantyperiod.Theseparts

include:paint,wood,pelletandcoalgaskets,firebricks,grates,flameguides,batteriesandthediscolorationofglass.• Minorexpansion,contraction,ormovementofcertainpartscausingnoise.Theseconditionsarenormalandcom-

plaintsrelatedtothisnoisearenotcoveredbythiswarranty.• Damagesresultingfrom:(1)failuretoinstall,operate,ormaintaintheapplianceinaccordancewiththeinstallation

instructions,operatinginstructions,andlistingagentidentificationlabelfurnishedwiththeappliance;(2)failuretoinstalltheapplianceinaccordancewithlocalbuildingcodes;(3)shippingorimproperhandling;(4)improperopera-tion,abuse,misuse,continuedoperationwithdamaged,corrodedorfailedcomponents,accident,orimproperly/incorrectlyperformedrepairs;(5)environmentalconditions,inadequateventilation,negativepressure,ordraftingcausedbytightlysealedconstructions,insufficientmake-upairsupply,orhandlingdevicessuchasexhaustfansorforcedairfurnacesorothersuchcauses;(6)useoffuelsotherthanthosespecifiedintheoperatinginstructions;(7)installationoruseofcomponentsnotsuppliedwiththeapplianceoranyothercomponentsnotexpresslyauthorizedandapprovedbyHHT;(8)modificationoftheappliancenotexpresslyauthorizedandapprovedbyHHTinwriting;and/or(9)interruptionsorfluctuationsofelectricalpowersupplytotheappliance.

• Non-HHTventingcomponents,hearthcomponentsorotheraccessoriesusedinconjunctionwiththeappliance.• Anypartofapre-existingfireplacesysteminwhichaninsertoradecorativegasapplianceisinstalled.• HHT’sobligationunderthiswarrantydoesnotextendtotheappliance’scapabilitytoheatthedesiredspace.Informa-

tionisprovidedtoassisttheconsumerandthedealerinselectingtheproperappliancefortheapplication.Consider-ationmustbegiventoappliancelocationandconfiguration,environmentalconditions,insulationandairtightnessofthestructure.

E. General Operating Information1. C. Feed Limit InstructionsTheFeedLimitcontrol is factorysetat#4,andshouldbeadequateformostfuels.However,iftheflameheightistoohighortoolow,youwillneedtoadjusttheFeedLimit.Waituntiltheappliancehasbeenburningfor15minutesbeforemakingyouradjustmentsandallow15minutesforfeedadjustmenttotakeeffect.

A. Starting your First Fire1. A roomsensor is required for proper operationof this

appliance in “RoomTemp”mode.At this time, fill thehopperwith pellets, insure the control is set to “OFF”.Figure4.2.Plugthepowercordintoaproperlygrounded,nearbyoutlet.

2.Oncepowerispresent,theunititwillrunthroughaquickdiagnosticstesttoinsurethecontrolisoperatingproperly.Thisisnormal.

D. Ignition Cycles1. Atthebeginningofeachignitioncycle,itisnormaltosee

somesmokeinthefirebox.Thesmokewillstoponcethefirestarts.

2. Thedistributionblowerwillautomaticallyturnonafteryourappliancehasreachedthesettemperature.Thisblowertransfersheatfromyourapplianceintotheroom,andwillcontinuetorun in“constantburn”modeatthesetspeedyouhavethecontrolknobat.In“roomtemp”mode however, the blowerwill turn on and offinaccordance towhat temperature theroomsensor isreading.Whentheroomsensorissatisfiedtheblowerwillshutdownuntiltheroomsensorseesademandforheat.

3. Occasionallytheappliancemayrunoutoffuelandshutitselfdown.Whenthishappens,theunitwillneedtobeturnedtotheoffpositionandrestarted. Ifneeded, follow the instructions inSectionA “StartingYourFirstFire”.

Keep thehopper lid and fireboxdoors closedwhile inoperation.Maintaindoorsealsingoodcondition.Failuretodosowillaffectoperationof theapplianceandmaypermitescapeofsmokeorgases into the livingspacecausingsmokedetectorstosound.

1. Fines are small pieces of broken pellets (sawdust). Fines do notfloweasilyandoftenbuilduponthehopperfunnelbottomangles.Thesefinescanbepushedintothefeederopeningandthenfillthehopperwithpellets.Asthesystemworks,theywillbe burned.

2. The"TEST"cyclewilloperatethefeedmotorforexactlyoneminute.Turningto"TEST"againandagainmayloadtoomuchfuel into the burn pot causing excessive smoke on start-up.

3. Thefireboxlowpressureswitchwillnotallowtheaugermotoror the igniter element to operate if the view door is open.

4. AdjustFeedLimit.Ifthisisyourfirstfireoryouaretryingdifferentpellets,setthefeedlimitto#4,Figure4.6Thisisaconservativenumber and will probably need to be increased. After you know a FeedLimitsettingthatworkswell,usethatsetting.Remember,if your feed rate is too high you may waste fuel.

5. This is usually a weekly maintenance procedure. Cleaning the burn pot with the scraper with a small amount of new fuel in the bottom is not a problem. First, scrape the ashes off the front of the burn pot into the ash pan. Then scrape the holed surface downward into the burn pot. When the stove feeds, these scrapings will be pushed out by the feeder.

6. Theashpancanholdtheashesfromapproximately1tonofpremium fuel. This means the ashes will only need to be emptied a few times a year.

7. Settingthefeedlimit#formaximumburn:Withtheunitburningin"AUTO",turnto"ConstantBurn"andputthefanon"H".SettheTemperatureDialto#7.Allowtheunittoburnforabout30minutesandcheckashonfrontofburnpot.Figure4.7.Iftheash line is larger than 1", turn the feed limit from #4 to #5. Allow another30minutesofburntimeandcheckagain.If,at#6setting,a 1" or less ash bed is not obtainable, it is not a problem. The 1" ash bed is only at maximum burn rate and during normal operation, the ash bed will be larger.

TheAdvancePelletStoveismorethanjustautomaticignition,it is also automatic temperature control. The automaticsystemwillallowthefiresizetobeadjustedtomatchtheheatingneedsandevenputthefireoutifnecessary.Ifheatisneededafterthefireisout,theAdvancePelletStovewillautomaticallyre-igniteandadjustthefiresizetomatchtheheatingneed.The totallyautomatic roomsensormode isrecommendedbecauseof its efficiency.The unit can beswitched between "AUTO" and "DISABLED" at any timeduringoperation.Igniter switch to “AUTO”Room Temperature ModeIn“RoomTempMode”heatoutputiscontrolledautomaticallybytheRoomSensingProbe.WhentheRoomSensingProbecallsforheat,thestovewillincreaseoutput.WhentheRoomSensingProbeisgettingclosetothesettemperature,thestovewillbegintoleveloffoutputandkeepthefireburningatjusttherighttemperaturetomaintainthatsetting.Highoutput isdeterminedby theFeedLimit setting.Thissetting,generallyon#4,canbeincreasedifhigherburnratesarenecessary(Figure4.6).Theunit’smaximumburnrateshouldnotcreatelessthan1”ofashontheburnpotfrontedge(Figure4.7).Overfeedingisnotasafetyconcern,butfuelmaybewastedifunburnedpelletsfallintotheashpan.In“RoomTempMode”aconstantfuelconsumptionrateissacrificedforexactroomtemperature.Therefore,asitgetscoldermorepelletswillbeburnedautomatically.The distribution blower speedwill vary according to thepositionofthemodeselectorpointer,andfiresize.Igniter switch to “AUTO”Constant burn ModeThisallowsforautomaticignitionuponstart-uponly.Theunitcanthenbesetatanydesiredsetting.Theheatoutputandfuel consumptionwill remainconstant regardlessof roomtemperature.Theunit’smaximumfeedrateshouldnotcreatelessthan1”ofashontheburnpotfrontedge.Figure4.7.Theunit’slowburnormaintenancesettingisaslowasitwillgo.Itwillnotgooutunlessitrunsoutoffueloristurnedoff.Shut-Down ProcedureTo kill the fire or stop burning the stove, turn theModeSelector to“OFF”.Thiswillcausethefire todiminishandburnout.Whenthefireburnsoutandthestovecoolsdowneverythingwillstop.Ifyoupulltheplugtoshutdownthestove,allmotorswillstop.Thismaycauseincompletecombustionandsmokeinthefirebox.Iftheloaddoorisopened,thesmokemayescape.Thebestwaytoshutdownthestoveissimplyletitrunoutofpellets,thestovewillshutdownautomatically.

Room Temperature Mode: This setting will produce a room temperature of70degreeswiththedistributionbloweratmediumspeed.

This setting will produce medium heat with the distribution blower on "low".

This setting will produce continuous maximum heat output with the distribution blower at full speed.

Ifafireoccurs,call thefire department, shut down the stove, and evacuate theresidence.Before using the appliance, have the ventingsystem thoroughly inspected and replace any damagedcomponents.

Loss of PowerMinimizing Smoke During Loss of Power Using battery back-upHarman® strongly recommends installing battery back-up to minimize entry of smoke into the room in the event of power loss.Your pellet/biomass burning appliance relies on acombustionblowertoremoveexhaust.Apowerfailurewillcause the combustion blower to stop. This may lead toexhaustseepingintotheroom.Verticalriseintheventingmay provide natural draft. Manual lighting is for emergency purposes only,andtheignitershouldberepairedorreplacedassoonaspractical.

WARNING!Only use firestarter commercially marketed for pelletstoves and inserts, including wax coated wood chips,pellet starter gel and pellet igniter blocks. Use of anyothertypeoffirestarterisprohibited.
