Hearth&HomeTechnologies,onbehalfofitshearthbrands(”HHT”),extendsthefollowingwarrantyforHHTgas,wood,pellet,coalandelectrichearthappliancesthatarepurchasedfromanHHTauthorizeddealer.

wARRANTy COVERAGE:HHTwarrantstotheoriginalowneroftheHHTapplianceatthesiteofinstallation,andtoanytransfereetakingownershipoftheapplianceatthesiteofinstallationwithintwoyearsfollowingthedateoforiginalpurchase,thattheHHTappliancewillbefreefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipatthetimeofmanufacture.Afterinstallation,ifcoveredcompo-nentsmanufacturedbyHHTarefoundtobedefectiveinmaterialsorworkmanshipduringtheapplicablewarrantyperiod,HHTwill,atitsoption,repairorreplacethecoveredcomponents.HHT,atitsowndiscretion,mayfullydischargeallofitsobligationsundersuchwarrantiesbyreplacingtheproductitselforrefundingtheverifiedpurchasepriceoftheproductitself.Themaximumamountrecoverableunderthiswarrantyislimitedtothepurchasepriceoftheproduct.Thiswarrantyissubjecttoconditions,exclusionsandlimitationsasdescribedbelow.

wARRANTy PERIOD:Warrantycoveragebeginsonthedateoforiginalpurchase.Inthecaseofnewhomeconstruction,warrantycoveragebeginsonthedateoffirstoccupancyofthedwellingorsixmonthsafterthesaleoftheproductbyanindependent,authorizedHHTdealer/distributor,whicheveroccursearlier.Thewarrantyshallcommencenolaterthan24monthsfollowingthedateofproductshipmentfromHHT,regardlessoftheinstallationoroccupancydate.Thewarrantyperiodforpartsandlaborforcoveredcomponentsisproducedinthefollowingtable.Theterm“LimitedLifetime”inthetablebelowisdefinedas:20yearsfromthebeginningdateofwarrantycoverageforgasappliances,and10yearsfromthebeginningdateofwarrantycoverageforwood,pellet,andcoalappliances.Thesetimeperiodsreflecttheminimumexpectedusefullivesofthedesignatedcomponentsundernormaloperatingconditions.

resides.• Contactyourinstallingdealerforwarrantyservice.Iftheinstallingdealerisunabletoprovidenecessaryparts,contact

thenearestHHTauthorizeddealerorsupplier.Additionalservicefeesmayapplyifyouareseekingwarrantyservicefromadealerotherthanthedealerfromwhomyouoriginallypurchasedtheproduct.

• Checkwithyourdealerinadvanceforanycoststoyouwhenarrangingawarrantycall.Travelandshippingchargesforpartsarenotcoveredbythiswarranty.

This warranty is void if:• Theappliancehasbeenover-firedoroperatedinatmospherescontaminatedbychlorine,fluorine,orotherdamaging

chemicals.Over-firingcanbeidentifiedby,butnotlimitedto,warpedplatesortubes,rustcoloredcastiron,bubbling,crackinganddiscolorationofsteelorenamelfinishes.

• Theapplianceissubjectedtoprolongedperiodsofdampnessorcondensation.• Thereisanydamagetotheapplianceorothercomponentsduetowaterorweatherdamagewhichistheresultof,but

notlimitedto,improperchimneyorventinginstallation.

LIMITATIONS OF LIAbILITy:• Theowner’sexclusiveremedyandHHT’ssoleobligationunderthiswarranty,underanyotherwarranty,expressor

implied,orincontract,tortorotherwise,shallbelimitedtoreplacement,repair,orrefund,asspecifiedabove.InnoeventwillHHTbeliableforanyincidentalorconsequentialdamagescausedbydefectsintheappliance.Somestatesdonotallowexclusionsorlimitationofincidentalorconsequentialdamages,sotheselimitationsmaynotapplytoyou.Thiswarrantygivesyouspecificrights;youmayalsohaveotherrights,whichvaryfromstatetostate.EXCEPTTOTHEEXTENTPROVIDEDBYLAW,HHTMAKESNOEXPRESSWARRANTIESOTHERTHANTHEWARRANTYSPECIFIEDHEREIN.THEDURATIONOFANYIMPLIEDWARRANTYISLIMITEDTODURATIONOFTHEEXPRESSEDWARRANTYSPECIFIEDABOVE.

exteriorsurfacefinishesmayoccur.Thisisnotaflawandisnotcoveredunderwarranty.• Damagetoprinted,plated,orenameledsurfacescausedbyfingerprints,accidents,misuse,scratches,melteditems,

1. Fines are small pieces of broken pellets (sawdust). Fines do notfloweasilyandoftenbuilduponthehopperfunnelbottomangles.Thesefinescanbepushedintothefeederopeningandthenfillthehopperwithpellets.Asthesystemworks,theywillbe burned.

2. The"TEST"cyclewilloperatethefeedmotorforexactlyoneminute.Turningto"TEST"againandagainmayloadtoomuchfuel into the burn pot causing excessive smoke on start-up.

3. Thefireboxlowpressureswitchwillnotallowtheaugermotoror the igniter element to operate if the view door is open.

4. AdjustFeedLimit.Ifthisisyourfirstfireoryouaretryingdifferentpellets,setthefeedlimitto#4,Figure4.6Thisisaconservativenumber and will probably need to be increased. After you know a FeedLimitsettingthatworkswell,usethatsetting.Remember,if your feed rate is too high you may waste fuel.

5. This is usually a weekly maintenance procedure. Cleaning the burn pot with the scraper with a small amount of new fuel in the bottom is not a problem. First, scrape the ashes off the front of the burn pot into the ash pan. Then scrape the holed surface downward into the burn pot. When the stove feeds, these scrapings will be pushed out by the feeder.

6. Theashpancanholdtheashesfromapproximately1tonofpremium fuel. This means the ashes will only need to be emptied a few times a year.

7. Settingthefeedlimit#formaximumburn:Withtheunitburningin"AUTO",turnto"ConstantBurn"andputthefanon"H".SettheTemperatureDialto#7.Allowtheunittoburnforabout30minutesandcheckashonfrontofburnpot.Figure4.7.Iftheash line is larger than 1", turn the feed limit from #4 to #5. Allow another30minutesofburntimeandcheckagain.If,at#6setting,a 1" or less ash bed is not obtainable, it is not a problem. The 1" ash bed is only at maximum burn rate and during normal operation, the ash bed will be larger.

7 Reference Material

A. Safety RemindersWhenoperatingyourHarman®AdvancePelletStove,respectbasic safety standards.Read these instructions carefullybefore youattempt to operate theAdvancePelletStove.Failuretodosomayresultindamagetopropertyorpersonalinjuryandmayvoidtheproductwarranty.Duetohightemperatures,thisstoveshouldbeplacedoutoftrafficandawayfromfurnitureanddraperies.Childrenandadultsshouldbealertedtothehazardsofhighsurfacetemperaturesandshouldstayawaytoavoidburntoskinand/orclothing.Youngchildrenshouldbecarefullysupervisedwhentheyareinthesameroomasthestove.Clothingandotherflammablematerialsshouldnotbeplacedonornearthisstove.Installationand repair of this stove should bedoneby aqualifiedserviceperson.Theapplianceshouldbeinspectedbeforeuseandatleastannuallybyaqualifiedserviceperson.Morefrequentcleaningwillberequired.Itisimperativethatcontrol compartmentsand circulatingair passagewaysofthisstovebekeptclean.Disposal of ashes:Ashes should be placed in ametalcontainerwith a tight fitting lid.The closed container ofashesshouldbeplacedonanon-combustiblefloororontheground,wellawayfromallcombustiblematerials,pendingfinaldisposal.Iftheashesaredisposedofbyburialinsoilorotherwise locallydispersed, theyshouldbe retained intheclosedcontaineruntilallcindershavethoroughlycooled.Soot and fly ash: Formationandneed for removal.Theproductsof combustion contain small particlesof flyash.Theflyashwillcollectintheexhaustventingsystemandwillrestricttheflowofthefluegases.Pelletfuelshavedifferentashcontentsdependingonwhattypeofwoodhasbeenusedtomakethepellets.we recommend to clean the system after approximately 1 ton of pellets have been burned and judge from that how often the stove should be cleaned, remember if you change pellets it may change how often you have to clean your stove. Whenburningwoodslowly,thepotentialexistsforcreosotetoform.Theventingsystemshouldbeinspectedperiodicallythroughout theheatingseason todetermine if a creosotebuildup has occurred. If a significant layer of creosotehasaccumulated(3mmormore),itshouldberemovedtoreduce the riskofachimneyfire. Ifafireoccurs,call thefire department, shut down the stove, and evacuate theresidence.Before using the appliance, have the ventingsystem thoroughly inspected and replace any damagedcomponents.

The Low Draft Pressure Switchisadifferentialpressureswitchthatmonitors thenegativepressure (Draft) in the firebox. If thedraftbecomestoo lowforpropercombustion, theswitchopens,cuttingpowertothefeedmotorandtheignitercircuits.ThisswitchisconnectedintotheAC(highvoltage)wiring.

TheControl board/ESP combination is responsible forall highlimitsafetycontrol.Thereare2highlimits,onenormaloperationhighlimitandonebackuphighlimit.Thecontrolhasanautomaticdiagnosticcircuit thatcontinuouslymonitors theESPandRoomSensorforfaults.Ifafaultshouldoccur,thecontrolsendsastatusalertandatthesametimetheunitgoesdowntominimumfeed/minimumburnasasafetycondition.

Loss of PowerMinimizing Smoke During Loss of Power Using battery back-upHarman® strongly recommends installing battery back-up to minimize entry of smoke into the room in the event of power loss.Your pellet/biomass burning appliance relies on acombustionblowertoremoveexhaust.Apowerfailurewillcause the combustion blower to stop. This may lead toexhaustseepingintotheroom.Verticalriseintheventingmay provide natural draft. It is, however, no guaranteeagainstleakage.There are two Harman® approved battery back-up options for your appliance:Uninterruptible Power Supply UPSbatteryback-upsareavailableonlineoratcomputerandofficeequipmentstores.Your Harman® appliance with Rev E or later softwareavailable beginning in November 2010 may be pluggeddirectlyintoaHarman®approvedUPS:• The APC (American Power Conversion) model

D. Emergency Manual IgnitionHarman® pellet stovesand inserts shouldbe lit using theautomatic ignition system. This is the safest and mostreliablewayforignitingtheunit.Intheeventtheautomaticigniterisnotfunctioning,thestepsbelowmaybefollowedtomanuallylightthestoveorinsertinthe“ConstantBurn”mode. Manual lighting is for emergency purposes only,andtheignitershouldberepairedorreplacedassoonaspractical.

WARNING!Only use firestarter commercially marketed for pelletstoves and inserts, including wax coated wood chips,pellet starter gel and pellet igniter blocks. Use of anyothertypeoffirestarterisprohibited.

To avoid serious injury or death read and followmanufacturer’swarningandinstructionsforuseoffirestarter.Useoffirestarterisonlypermittedwhenperformingacoldstart.Neverattempt tomanually lightastoveor insert thathasbeen operated recently and is not at room temperature.If automatic ignition was attempted, be sure to give thestoveorinsertatleast30minutesorlongertocooltoroomtemperature.Besurethatthestoveorinsertisinthe“Igniter-Disabled”modeofoperation.Once all the precautions have been taken, follow thesesteps:1.TurntheModeSelectorto“OFF”.2.Fillburnpotwithpellets,onlyhalfway.(DoNotOverFill).3.Add firestarter to pellets following manufacturer’s

instructions.4.Lightpelletgelwithamatch,andclosethedoor,turnMode

SelectortoConstantBurn.Operationwillbeginwhenthefirereachesthepropertemperature.
