Starting Your Career JourneyThe static job path is a thing of the past. Your career is not set in stone, but will change and grow as you do. Just Like the Real ThingA real-world experience isn’t “real” if you don’t have a chance to get hands-on with the same tasks that our full-time associates handle. That’s why we want you to cut your teeth on the very same high-profile projects they work on. You’ll apply the analytical and problem-solving skills you’ve learned during your education to a real work environment – getting actual work experience in benefits pricing, financial modeling, incentive plan benchmarking or investment studies.

In keeping with our real-world philosophy, we don’t expect you to work for free. Our internships and co-ops (Canada) are paid positions. Just like our permanent associates, you’ll receive benefits such as eligibility to participate in our national training program and help with professional exams, should you decide to take them.

How long does your typical internship or co-op last? Are your internships full time or only for the summer? Typically, our internships are for the summer and extend from June until mid-August. Our co-ops, which are in our offices in Canada, are usually full-time for the four consecutive months of the work term.

Your technical or practice orientation classes will also begin your first year. These include hands-on learning experiences coupled with structured coursework. With your new skill sets, you’ll be fully prepared to face the technical challenges of your new career.

Health CareOur comprehensive Canadian health coverage plan covers you and your family for 80% of eligible expenses up to $5,000 and 100% of eligible expenses thereafter. In addition to traditionally covered expenses such as hospital stays and dental procedures, Watson Wyatt Medical also covers services of psychologists, acupuncture therapists, speech therapists and chiropractors.
