• A strategic and creative director of architecture and urban revitalisation, with over 25 year’s experience across four continents.

• A juror for the 2013 NSW Sulman Medal for Public Architecture and the 2013 Lloyd Rees Award for Urban Design.

• Managed the international competition for One Alfred Street, Sydney and has been an entrant, registrar and juror on more than 10 competitions.

Andrew Duggan BA MURP LLD MPIA

• Over 15 years experience in the NSW property and development sector as both a town planner and environmental planning lawyer.

• Andrew and Chris are the project co-leads, providing strategic direction and are responsible for ensuring milestones are achieved and the Competition is delivered in accordance with quality outcomes.

The Competition Registrar

• Manage the competition process in consultation with the City of Ryde to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved

• Advise on Competition methodology and staging • Co-ordinate the production of the Competition documentation and

procedures • Facilitate endorsement from the AIA – credibility • First point of contact and liaison for the competitors, the jury and Council

during the Competition

• Facilitate the Jury assessment

• The Jury will consist of three experienced industry professionals each notable for their pre-eminence in one of the following fields

–Public Service

–Architecture; and

–Property Industry

Prize Money and Compensation

• Key to attract the highest calibre competitors

• The competition is to provide a total pool of $350,000 (AUD)

• Three / four shortlisted entrants to receive $50,000

• The winning entrant will be awarded an additional prize of $150,000

Stage 1

• Stage One is an open international design ideas competition, comprising the following key components: – Competitors to evaluate the sites development

potential over a six (6) week period – Clarifications/questions via the Competition Registrar

during the competition – Community to rank their top 5 concepts – preferred

concept into Stage 2 – The Jury will select three (3) entrants to be shortlisted

and participate in Stage 2

Stage 2

• Stage Two is an invited design competition, comprising the following key components: – Competitors will provide a detailed analysis of the

sites development potential over a six (6) week period

– Public exhibition

– Community polled on final submissions and result forwarded to Jury

– The Jury will determine a winner of the Competition
