It is a shortening of Norwegian words:

Surface preparationThis included the following 4 professions:

–Galvanizer

–Hot dip galvanizer

–Thermal sprayer

– Industrial painter

Norway had traditional shipbuilding and did

training of paint inspectors on-the-job basis.

Inspectors normally came from the paint industry.

In 1970 building of oil installations started in Norway.

After the upgrading of the applicators

was established in 1985, it was necessary

also to upgrade the inspectors.

• A certificate expires after 5 years + 180 days

• The inspector is responsible to notify the FROSIO Secretariat in due time

• A minimum of 2 years inspection practice shall be documented

• A renewal fee will be charged
