Write Ratios As Fractions and explain their meaning

At the recent Winter Classic, there were approximately 46,000 fans at the game. If 32,000 of them were Flyers fans, what is the ratio of Flyers fans to Rangers fans, in simplest terms? What does that ratio mean?

46000 – 32000 = 14000 fans Find the number of Rangers fans

Express the two quantities as a ratio (Flyers to Rangers).

Simplify the ratio by dividing

Express the simplified ratio

It means for every 16 Flyers fans you saw at the game, there were 7 Rangers fans at the game.
