►The Idea: Habitualize Pro Bono
Simply put , make Pro Bono a Habit- a good habit.
Tattoo Pro Bono into brain circuits of Nonprofit Employees, and, as a result, make it an
effortless action: a Habit!

What is your high-level plan for successfully making this happen?
► We tattoo ‘Pro Bono as a Habit’ through scientifically proven habit-forming methodologies
and the creation of Habit Loops.
► This habitualized behavior is marketed through a campaign to create Essentialist
Nonprofits*.

► This Essentialist behavior is enforced by a tactical gamification methodology.
► This behavior is craved for by nonprofits because it offers Epic Experiences**.
► The end-product of our Habitualization Process is:
A nonprofit for which Pro Bono remains a habitual consideration.
With this, therefore, the capacity to proactively plan for, seek out
and utilize pro bono resources.
How the success of this idea be measured?
► Number of nonprofits that engage in Habitualization Process (or Tattooing Pro Bono)
► Number of nonprofits that habitualize pro bono (at close of program and at 3 month follow
up)
► Number of nonprofits who graduate as Essentialist
► Number of nonprofits who increase their pro bono engagement (at 3 month and 6 month)
► Promoter score (likelihood to recommend Habitualization Process)

How do you envision this idea getting to a very large scale when implemented?
► By engaging aspiring Skilled Volunteers to promote and facilitate the Essentialist Campaign

► What does this engagement look like during implementation and scaling?
Recruit skilled volunteers as Essentialist Coaches
Train skilled volunteers as Essentialist Coaches
Use gamification mechanism to reward coaches
Coaches receive points for every nonprofit that graduates as an Essentialist
Coaches receive points for every Pro Bono engagement undertaken by the Essentialist nonprofit
An analogy to this system would be rewards by Foursquare, Starbucks, Uber, Evernote.
► A cult and pride around an “Essentialist NPO” and with that, the Essentialist NPO Index.
► Our process is designed for scale by leveraging the existing network
of Intermediaries and nonprofits.
