RESERVE FUND CAMPAIGN

Please check out the new card you will find in the pew holder. The Stewardship Committee is kicking off a campaign this morning which will continue through October, asking our generous members to consider contributing a monthly amount for the next three “hurricane warning” months to our Reserve Fund. We have an insurance deductible of $150,000 for hurricane related damage to church and school, and a current reserve of just over $30,000. If you are able to contribute any amount over and above your normal offering to the Lord, we will be giving thanks and expressing

gratitude to God for your generosity.

Ideas on How to Invite People to Attend Worship Services

Pray for the unchurched in our community. Pray for children being raised outside the church, couples in marriages that don’t have Christ at their center, etc. But pray also for specific families and individuals – friends, relatives, associates, neighbors – by name every day! Know that personal invitations are the most effective method of increasing worship attendance. Invest 60 seconds once a week to invite someone to attend worship with you. Continue to invite a person every two months even if they decline you invitations. Those invited may eventually come to a season of life when they are receptive to attending worship. Regular invitations are more likely to overlap one of these seasons. Keep Sunday’s bulletin in your car or on your desk until you have given it to someone along with your personal invitation for them to join you in worship.

SUNDAY AUGUST 28TH

Altar This central furnishing in a Christian worship space is usually fairly large, with a solid front that may be decorated with symbols or words. The flat surface, often covered with a cloth, is where the Communion elements are prepared and placed, reminding us of Jesus' sacrifice as the Lamb of God. In some churches, the altar looks more like a table, with open legwork. We remember that Jesus invites us into fellowship with God now and to the heavenly banquet for eternity. We place offerings on the altar to symbolize our sacrificial response to

God's redeeming love.

BOLD JUSTICE Micah 6:8 "He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" Florida's Civil Citation program (FL Statue 985) diverts juveniles from an arrest record toward a community based diversion program. This program allows juveniles to make restitution to victims and to complete interventions to change their behavior without obtaining a criminal record.

LifeNet4Families News LifeNet4Families has a new Volunteer Coordinator, Luciano Todeschini, who called us to let us know that volunteers are desperately needed on Mondays through Saturdays from 8:00 till 11:00 a.m. There are also opportunities to help from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please consider helping our community by calling Luciano at 954-314-9815.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES NEEDED

Thank You!

The Women's Group would like to thank everyone who donated during the month of July in support of Animal Aid, Inc. Several members of the organization, including the founder, attended our meeting on Monday, July 18, along with several "fur babies", who won everyone's hearts. All who attended had a wonderful time, and Animal Aid was overwhelmed bythe variety and quantity of items contributed. They were particularly appreciative of the warmth of theirwelcome and the friendliness of everyone they met.

Check out the Animal Aid, Inc. Facebook page for a very nice thank you (with pictures)!

This was truly an event that embodied "Serving Christ, Serving Others, Changing Lives”.
