our city, Glasgow.
• Our school is called Bellahouston Academy.
• It is situated in Glasgow, Scotland.
• It has almost 1000 pupils.
• The head teacher is Ian Anderson.

Our school is called Bellahouston Academy and it is located in Glasgow, Scotland.

Bellahouston Academy is a multi-cultural school where many religions come together. School starts at 08:50am and finishes at 3 o’clock on a
Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays school finishes at 3:50 pm so we have an extra class on those days. The Head Teacher is Mr. Anderson who has been the head teacher for nearly six years. We also have extra activities in the school such as the Glasgow
School of Sport. The Glasgow School of Sport has five different sports you can take part in, Athletics, Gymnastics, Swimming, Hockey and
Badminton.
We start school at 8:50 am each morning.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we finish school at 3pm.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays we finish school at 3:50pm.
The subjects we can take are:
Maths, English, French, Urdu, German, Geography, History, Modern Studies, Religious Studies, Personal & Social Education (PSE), Business Management, Art, Drama, Home Economics, P.E., Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Graphics, Technical, Computing and many more.
Clubs!
We have lots of clubs in school such as:
Girls fitness, girls/boys football, dance cycling, basketball, tennis, badminton, golf and skiing.
Tennis club!
In our school we have two tennis courts and we have an after school club where you can go and play tennis in the evening. We also can choose tennis as one of one of our activities during physical education.

Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and third most popular in the United Kingdom. The city is situated on the River Clyde in the country's west central lowlands. A person from Glasgow is known as a Glaswegian, which is also the name of the local dialect. In Glasgow there are many tourist attractions, such as the City Chambers, the Science Centre, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow cathedral and the Royal Concert Hall etc.

Glasgow’s Attractions1. This is the Glasgow Science Centre. It is very
big inside and has a 3D cinema. It also has a tower overlooking Glasgow. Inside, it has a lot of fun and interesting activities to do. There are 3 floors. The top 2 are full of the things you can do and the bottom is reception and café.

2. The Tradeston Broomielaw Bridge, known as the Squiggly Bridge by locals, which was built last year connects the city centre to the East side of the city. You get a beautiful view of the city and the River Clyde.
Glasgow's Attractions3. The S.E.C.C. has two main parts. An
Armadillo and an exhibition showrooms. A lot of famous people have performed in the Armadillo and there are always shows in the exhibition hall.
Glasgow’s Attractions4. This is the Clyde Arc, called the Squinty
Bridge by locals, which was designed by a Chinese architect and lights up at night. It has a great design and it is called the Squinty Bridge because when you look at it, it looks like it isn’t straight.

The Hampden Experience. • The Hampden Experience will reveal the sights, sounds and stories of the
world’s favourite game, in the country that took football to the world. Spend a day enjoying Scotland’s football heritage, remembering the legends that inspire the champions of today.
• On the Stadium Tour you will see the Stadium as the players do on Match day - visit the underground roadway, team changing rooms and have the speed of your shot electronically measured in the players warm up area. Walk down the tunnel, hear the famous Hampden Roar and then follow the footsteps of legends by climbing the stairs to the Cup Presentation Area.
• IN THE HEART OF POLLOK COUNTRY PARK, THIS AWARD-WINNING BUILDING HOUSES A UNIQUE COLLECTION IN A BEAUTIFUL WOODLAND SETTING.
• OUR DISPLAYS RANGE FROM WORK BY MAJOR ARTISTS INCLUDING RODIN, DEGAS AND CÉZANNE, TO IMPORTANT EXAMPLES OF LATE MEDIEVAL ART, CHINESE AND ISLAMIC ART, ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS AND MORE.
• THE COLLECTION IS NAMED AFTER ITS DONOR, THE SHIPPING MAGNATE SIR WILLIAM BURRELL. IT’S ONE OF THE GREATEST COLLECTIONS EVER CREATED BY ONE PERSON, COMPRISING OVER 8000 OBJECTS.
• THE BURRELL REGULARLY HOSTS TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS, AND RUNS AN EXTENSIVE PROGRAMME OF EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES FOR BOTH ADULTS AND FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN.
Glasgow Science Centre is one of the most exciting and challenging projects in Scotland in recent years. The Centre aims to promote public awareness of the importance of science and technology.
Glasgow Science Centre is a visitor attraction located on the south bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland. It is a purpose-built science centre composed of three buildings, which are the Science Mall, an IMAX cinema and the Glasgow Tower.
Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and third most populated in the United Kingdom. Glasgow is famous for it’s two football teams, Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic.
What Our Weather Is Like• Our weather is very varied. Glasgow is
famous for it’s rain but in summer it can get very hot. In winter it snows, and temperatures can reach as low as -10. Most days the weather is cloudy.
• Scotland is part of the United Kingdom.
• Scotland has over 790 islands.
• The animal symbol of Scotland is the unicorn.
• Edinburgh is the capital city.
• Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland, with a population of 500,000 people.
• Scotland is famous for it’s mountainous landscape.

The Scottish Culture
St. Andrews Day
• St. Andrew is our patron saint. • He was one of Jesus' twelve apostles.
• We celebrate St Andrew’s Day on November 30th.
• St Andrews Day marks the opening of Christmas Markets, and many Midwinter customs and folk
superstitions are also connected to this day.
The Thistle
• The thistle is the flower of Scotland• The thistle is the flower of Scotland because
many centuries ago a band of Scots hid out for the night in an area surrounded by thistles. The Norse, hoping to surprise them, removed their footwear so they could sneak up unheard and massacre the Scots easily. However, one of the soldiers stepped on a thistle and his cries of pain woke up the Scots who defeated the Norse.

Football is one of the most popular sports in Scotland.
Haggis• Haggis is a dish in which it contains
sheep’s, liver and lungs.
• Haggis is a kind of sausage.
• The haggis is a traditional Scottish dish memorialised as the national dish of Scotland by Robert Burns' poem Address to a Haggis in 1787.
Irn Bru
It is one of the best selling soft drinks in Scotland, competing
with Coke and Pepsi.
Irn bru is a soft drink like Coke, Pepsi and Fanta.
Every year there is a festival held in Glasgow called The Irn-
Bru Carnival. Irn-Bru is famous for its orange
colour.
