Mayor Chacks Gas Supply
Mefore 1'ullen's start. Mayor Mo.rrltt p:. Paddock of Long Beach briefly promised him the city's co operation and best wishes for the sne.eess of the test. The mayor also supervised the measuring and sealing of the car's first supply of gas. oil and water. I'nblased news papermen will accompany the car on every lap to check the meas urements of each refill.
At the send-off ceremony, I. U. Groves, manager of the Ford sales and assembly plant near Uong Heach, announced Pullen's sched ule and explained the purposes of the run.
