Stewardship Around the Parish
The Stephen Ministry has put together “Sunshine Bags” filled with activities and “goodies” to share with our homebound parishioners during Advent. May they too feel the love of Christ this holy season!
St. Ann Giving Tree
Thank you to everyone
who participated in St. Ann’s Giving
Tree project. With the generosity of
so many people, we were able to send
blessings and Christmas cheer to over
35 residents at the Cass County
Medical Facility. To share the Love of
Christ brings Joy to many!
Birthday Blessings
On the last Sunday of each month, St.
Ann Parish community celebrates birthdays from
that month! Next week, on December 29, we will
invite all those who celebrate a birthday during the
month of December to stand for a special blessing.
The Hospitality Ministry provides fellowship and
serves refreshments, including cake for everyone to
enjoy after Mass. Be sure we have your birth date
correct so we can add your name to our Big Birthday
Board. Check the birthday board for your name and
add it if necessary.
YOUR GENEROSITY
AND KINDNESS
ARE OVERWHELMING!
The Edwardsburg Food Pantry
Christmas Basket give-away was a
huge success! Thanks to all the
volunteers who helped pack over
540 bags of groceries for the
Christmas Basket Give-away and
parishioners who donated gifts. The
families helped by the pantry came
and received 3 bags of groceries,
gifts, blankets, hats and mittens. In
addition to your generosity, a
special thanks to Toys For Tots of
Cass County for the donations of
toys.
You Have Really Been Christ
to Those in Need!

ENCOUNTERING CHRIST: JOYFULLY UNLEASHING
YOUR GIFTS
On Saturday, January 18th, the
Diocese of Kalamazoo’s Office of
Stewardship and Development will be
sponsoring the third of six retreats for
the purpose of creating a better
understanding of the true meaning of
the concept of Christian stewardship.
Hosted by St. Joseph Mission Parish
in White Pigeon, the day promises to
be one of prayer and reflection, along
with discussion on our own journey
as Apostles of Christ. Bishop Bradley
will begin the day with Mass at 8:30
am, with special music and later
testimony from Grammy-nominated
Vince Ambrosetti, and the day will
end at approximately 4:00 pm. Lunch
and childcare will be provided, and
the event is being offered at no cost
with the exception of a free-will lunch
donation. For more information and
to register, please go to:

4th Sunday of Advent
“When Joseph awoke, he
did as the angel of the Lord had
commanded him and took his wife into
his home.” MATTHEW 1:24
We try to put our complete trust in
the Lord without expecting anything
in return. We try to strive to put God
first in all things and follow Him
wherever He may lead us. As we
prepare for the birth of our Lord, pray
for the strength and courage to be a
model of discipleship, just as Joseph
was.
AN ADVENT PRAYER
Lord God, during this time of Advent may your
Word illuminate all darkness in my life. May one flame serve as a spark to ignite in me a fire of desire for you. May a second flame light a lamp by which I may find my way to you. May a third flame warm my heart so I may love as you love. And may a fourth flame shine so brightly that the world may see your Word in me. Come, Lord Jesus. Come, Emmanuel. Use me to shine forth Your Word to a world seeking light in the darkness.
Amen.

This
Christmas
end a quarrel.
Seek out a forgotten
friend. Dismiss suspicion
and replace it with trust.
Write a letter. Give a soft answer.
Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty
in word and deed. Keep a promise. Forgo
a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to
understand. Examine your demands on others.
Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh
a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger.
Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty
and wonder of the earth.
Speak your love, and
Then speak it again.

Collaborative Christmas Party
The Christmas Party was a wonderful event
for people from both parishes to gather for
fellowship and fun! The pot-luck meal was delicious and
plentiful. Santa and Mrs. Claus closed the event with their
jolly smiles and Christmas Joy. Thank you to all the student
and adult volunteers … we couldn’t have put it together
without you.
