First there was Cannes, then Miami, and now…

We are happy to announce the opening of the Our Lady of Lourdes Film

Festival!

The Our Lady of Lourdes Film Festival will be a monthly celebration of

the best and brightest that the Church has to offer. As you know, I have

always found the biographies of the saints to be very inspiring and a great

help in living an integrated and faith-filled life. It is amazing how the

human and societal issues faced by the saints of every age are the same

ones we face today. In their stories, then, we can find our own way

through.

We will present each month a film on the life of a saint or distinguished

Church leader – some lives are so rich they require a two-part series. We

will run the schedule in the bulletin and on our webpage so you can

always check in but the schedule for our first year includes:

September 16th – Mother Theresa, October 21st – St. Louis de Mont-

fort, November 18th – Mary of Nazareth, January 20th – St. John

XXIII (part I), February 24th – (part II), March 17th – Pope Pius XII

(part I), April 28th - (part II), May 26th – St. Claire and St. Francis of

Assisi (part I), June 16th – (part II), July 21 – St. Philip Neri (part I),

August 18th – (part II), September 15th – St. Martin de Porres, with

more to come!

Those who were with us last month for the film on the life of St. John

Paul II were really enthused. You will be too. The life journey of these

remarkable men and women remind us that they are really ordinary men

and women made remarkable by God’s grace and that we ordinary men

and women have access to that same grace. We, too, can be saints!

El Festival de Cine de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes será una celebración
