Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time October 22, 2017
Note from the Pastor: In the gospel today, Jesus is inviting us to “give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s”. I am inviting you to meditate about what you are giving to the church and if you are giving to God what is God’s. I am offering you very clearly the ways that we can be successful in fundraising. 1. Asking for donations in person or online at
mtcarmelalive.org 2. Being active with the Sunday breakfasts (if you
would like to cook a Sunday breakfast, you can be put on the schedule)
3. Selling your raffle tickets. If we sell all the raffle tickets, we can raise $160,000
4. We are putting together a cook off contest on November 4th and a Festival on November 5th. I am thinking that if we work together we can raise $50,000.

noviembre y un Festival el 5 de noviembre. Estoy pensando que si trabajamos juntos podemos recaudar $ 50,000.

BAPTISM SESSIONS Please call the Parish Center at 713-645-6673
to register your child for Baptism. Baptism Sessions in English will be on October 27 & November 3 from 7:00 - 8:00 PM in the Parish Center. Baptism Sessions in Spanish will be on November 2 & 9 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM in the Parish Center. All sessions must be attended by parents & godparents.

Preparing for Next Sunday
30th Sunday in Ordinary Time The writer of Exodus reminds the Israelites of their duty toward the foreigner, the poor, the orphan and the widow in their midst. Saint Paul reminds us that it is the Spirit that turns the human heart away from worldly idols to faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus summarizes the Gospel message as love of God and love of neighbor.
