From the Pastor’s Desk
Del Escritorio del Pastor
Dear parishioners and friends:
During my homily for the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I spoke about the need to care for our elderly
parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and neighbors. Too often they are the forgotten ones in the family as we all get
caught up in the busyness of life. Those who are advanced in years have given so much to us. As a family and as a Church, we
cannot forget them. It is our call to love, even in difficult circumstances.
Do Not Forget Them
(A modern version Sirach 3:2-7; 12-14, by Fr. Vince Guest)
My children, take care of your parents and all the older members of your family. When they grow old, do not forget them.
When their minds start to fail with memory loss. When they forget their keys or cell phone, or even if they forget who you are, be kind.
When they cannot see like they used to. Be their eyes.
When they cannot hear too well, and when the television is blasting in their home, and you have
to repeat yourself. Be patient. When your grandparents or parents, or aunts or uncles cannot drive their car or even walk like
they did in the past, do not forget them. You can be their legs. You can drive them.
My sons and daughters, kindness to your parents and your grandparents and your older Aunts and
Uncles will not be forgotten by the Lord. If they have to go to a nursing facility because you
cannot take care of their medical needs. I understand that. But don’t leave them alone.
Call them. Visit them. Teach your young children to respect the elderly.
If you do not know what to say, do not worry. Your presence is most important. My grace will
work through you. See the face of God in the elderly. When you
forget them, you forget Me. When you love them, you love Me.
God Bless you and your family, Father Vince
Queridos feligreses y amigos:
Tu
aman.
Dios te bendiga a ti y a tu familia, Padre Vicente

The Heart of Mary:
The Birthplace of the Civilization of Love
The Legion of Mary dwells at the heart of the Marian Movement in this country and in nations all over the world. Mary's love and devotion to her Divine Son and to all of us as her daughters and sons are the gifts that personify her place as our ultimate mother. Help our Legion of Mary praesidium, Mother of Perpetual Help, carry her gifts of love to all those who are lost or despairing by
becoming Active or Auxiliary (praying) members.
Because our Blessed Mother is the gateway to Jesus as our intercessor and advocate, our praesidium offers two beautiful
pilgrim statues of Our Lady that can be brought into your homes for veneration and special Novenas to request favors, or
thanksgiving for favors received.
To inquire about membership or having a pilgrim statue in your home for two weeks at a time, please call
Stephanie Greco (856-346-1086) or Marge McShane (856-784-2435).
Today is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday and tomorrow is the 45th Anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision
that made abortion legal in America. Show your support of the unborn with a car magnet that is the logo of our efforts in New Jersey to stop abortion after 20 weeks through passing the “The Pain Capable Unborn Child Act”. They will be available for a
donation at the back of the church. Let us pray, especially today and tomorrow, for an end to abortion and for an increased
respect for all human life from conception until natural death.
