In Spain we speak 4 languages: Catalan, Spanish, Basque, Gallego. But we live in Catalonia and the official languages are Catalan and Spanish.

Sagrada Família

This monument is a very big temple. The architect of this monument was Antonio Gaudí. This temple is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Recently the Pope of Rome came to bless this temple.

Park Güell

The park Güell is a very big park in the city centre. In this park there is a lot of vegetation and a little forest. The architect of this park is the same architect of Sagrada Família. In one of the entrances there is a very famous fountain with a sculpture of a salamander.

Castellers

This is a very old Catalan traditions. The Castellers are organize in times called “colles” The most important time in Catalonia is the colla of Vilafranca. The colles meet when there is a festival. The idea is to build a human tower as high as possible. The castellers have been declared heritage of the humanity.

Capgrossos

The capgrossos are a typical tradition of Catalonia. During the city festivals, the organize a parade and people march and dance disguised with a very big mask over there head. There are a lots of different typical masks: Dog, ghost, fish, captain etc.

Saint JorgeThe 23rd of April we celebrate Saint George. This day boys give roses to girls and girls give books to boys. It is a very old tradition based on a legend about a dragon, a princess and a soldier.

Saint John (Sant Joan)

It is the night of the 23rd of June. We celebrate the beginning of the

summer. We buy fireworks and burn the old clothes and furniture in

a bonfire. And we eat a special food call coca.

Bread with tomato

Bread with tomato is a typical food of Catalonia. Its very easy to do. The ingredients are bread, tomato and oil. It's delicious!!!!

Catalan cream

It is a typical cream in Catalonia. Is a little difficult to do. The ingredients are sugar, eggs, stick cinnamon, lemon and cups milk.

Calçots

The Calçots are a typical food of Catalonia To can eat the calçots we put the calçots on the barbecue and then the calçots are fried.

Secallona

The secallona, is a typical whip in Catalonia. It is a small sausage, and it is delicious!

Our school is situated in Barcelona’s mountain, it is called Collserola and it is in the North West of the city. Around and inside the school there are a lot of pines trees.

We have a vegetable garden where we grow vegetables and fruits.

In our school children begin in P3, this is a course for students who are 3 years old. We finish when we are 18 years old in the course of 2nd of Batxillerat. This is the last course before University

Our school is 50 years old. But the building where we study is newer.

The school is sustainable

The building is made of three basic elements: glass, wood and cement.

The school is sustainable, we take advantage of the sun light, the school has solar panels to produce electricity. We also take advantage of the sun light in class because we have big windows, but sometimes it is too sunny and we close the blinds

We recycle food and paper in the school. We have cartoon bins where we throw waste paper.

We recycle the food we throw after lunch and use it as compost in our garden
