Why do we need Trustees?Bournemouth People First is aCharitable Company. Thatmeans that we need Trusteesto make sure that we work tocharity and company law.
What is a Charity?
A charity is a group of peoplewho agree to worktogether to do something thathelps other people.
A charity cannot work to helpjust 1 person.
Because we are a charity wehave a Memorandum andArticles of Association thatsays what we can andcannot do.
What do our trustees say?
To be a Trustee you must... What is a Trustee?Trustees are a group ofpeople who are legally(under the law) in charge ofmaking the organisation runas it should.
Trustees need to make surethey know whatBournemouth People First istrying to do.
Trustees make sure thatBournemouth People Firstdoes their work in theright way.
Trustees do not have to do allthe work themselves.
Make sure thatBournemouth People First:
● Has a bank account.
● Employ’s staff.
● Look’s after the money.
● Rents or buy offices.
● Works to the law.
● Help pay towards any money that is owed to other people by paying £10.
