Bioremediation
*Humic Properties
Humic substances have the greatest beneficial effects on soil properties, including support for microorganisms, improved aeration and an increased water and nutrient holding capacity.
Humic substances are naturally occurring compounds found in the most fertile of soils. The characteristic dark color of soils can be attributed to these substances.
*Our Technology
We have developed a revolutionary process that allows us to isolate specifically targeted fractions of humic substances. Each fraction has unique properties and abilities for precise roles in remediation.
**Patent CA No. 2570565; US No.7896944 – Method for Extracting Fulvic Acid Molecules
*The Fractions
Humin – High Molecular Weight Humic
Substances
Humic Acid – Medium Molecular
Weight Humic Substances
Light Humics – Low Molecular Weight
Humic Substances comprise the most
bioactive fraction and includes the
more commonly known humic

Forward-Thinking &
Environmentally Responsible
CellXCell (CXC) is comprised of light humics. It is produced as a liquid concentrate.
Microhumate consists of humic acid and trace amounts of light humics. Like our CXC, it is produced as a liquid.
Terrahume is composed of the humin fraction. It is produced as a powder.
All of our products are nonhazardous and are produced without the use of chemical extractants.

*Benefits in Remediation
CXC
• Binds to and mobilizes heavy metals and radionuclides for removal
• Increases the growth and metabolic functions of aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms
• Makes poorly soluble hydrocarbons more available to microbes
Microhuma
te
• Assists in nutrient uptake• Sequesters heavy metals and
radionuclides in deep locations• Weaker bio-stimulant properties
Terrahum
e
• Increased aeration & water holding capacity
• Sorbs contaminants and sequesters them from the surrounding soil to reduce solution concentrations
*Remediation Mediums &
Contaminants
Soil
Water
Air
Petroleum Hydrocarbons
Heavy Metals Radionuclides Chlorinated
Hydrocarbons Persistent Organic
Compounds VOCs Odors
*Example Humics Treatment (1)
• Soil is leached using EDTA to bind to heavy metals for removal.
Traditional Method
• Bind to heavy metals and are not subject to biodegradation.
Role of Humics • Replace EDTA with
CXC and leach as normal.
Alternative
• No losses due to biodegradation; more efficient throughput for collection.
Results
LEACHING OF HEAVY METALS
*Example Humics Treatment (2)
• Surfactants are pumped into the soil to solubilize diesel fuels.
Traditional Method
• Increase diesel solubility & stimulate microbial decomposition.
Role of Humics • Replace
surfactants with CXC and pump into the soil.
Alternative
• Buffers fuel solution levels & provides long-term stimulation of microbes.
Results
IN-SITU BIOREMEDIATION OF HYDROCARBONS
*Example Humics Treatment (3)
• VOCs are either flamed off or captured using activated carbon.
Traditional Method
SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION OF VOCS
*Example Humics Treatment (4)
• Excavate and stockpile cesium contaminated soil.
Traditional Method
• Complex cesium ions; cesium is desorbed from the soil into a water solution.
Role of Humics • In-situ soil
remediation; capture of cesium onto absorbent material.
Alternative
• Economical and practical removal of cesium radionuclides.
Results
REMOVAL OF CESIUM RADIONUCLIDES FROM SOIL
*Consultation Process
1.Review existing data from the zone of contamination
2.Visit the site for a general assessment
3.Perform additional testing for unknown but significant factors
4.Analyze test results
5.Ascertain engineering and land management requirements
6.Develop general recommendations and design treatment trains based on agreed upon goals
7.Select and delineate target areas for the installation of treatment designs
8.Monitor feedback and results from treatments and recommend adjustments as necessary
